What a great guy with a good sense of humor. Never forget we were getting ready to run a B main from the pole on a dry slick track. He is pitted next to me and walks over and says good luck. I ask him if he had any advice, and he says "yeah, don't hit a tire." He will be missed

Tx Outlaw. I've been trying to find out about that. I'll post if and when I find out.
A few Edd stories.
The first time I got to know Edd and his wife and daughter they lived in El Paso. He would tow every Fri. night to race at the Devil's Bowl (680 miles - before Interstates) - then he usually took off to race at Knoxville, Ia. on Sat. night then on to Colorado for a Sunday night race then back home to El Paso to go to work Monday morning. Now that, my friends, is a true racer.
I love 10sprint's story. Sounds like Edd.
Once at the Devil's Bowl - I'll call these guys Joe and Bill (not their real names). They were in a pretty heated argument after the races and Edd came up to see what was going on. Joe said "Bill's racing to close to me". Edd said "Bill - did you hit Joe?". "No" said Bill. So Edd said "Joe - did Bill hit you?". Again - the answer was no. Edd said "then he isn't racing too close to you" and with that Edd walked away and Joe & Bill quit fighting.
As another side note - Edd French was proud that he was inducted into the BCRA (Big Car Racing Association) Hall of Fame - something he really deserved. Edd was also extremely devoted to his daughter.
I am so proud of Edd for winning an SST (Sprint Car Series of Texas) A main feature in July 2012. This is a tough group of over 30 cars. It was a hard fought win.
Edd's ready smile and great outlook on life will be missed. Thanks Edd for all of the years of watching you race in your #7777 and being the really great person you are.... were....

I remember the time he showed up at Knoxville on opening night and won the feature. Driving a car out of Nebraska.
