From the Silver Dollar Facebook page:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Silver Dollar Speedway – Chico, CA Contact - (530) 350 - 7275 http://www.silverdollarspeedway.com/
Silver Cup Still Scheduled for This Weekend by: Troy Hennig
CHICO, CA – (March 3, 2014)…Even as rain continues to pound the North State on Monday morning, promoter Dennis Gage is optimistic about getting this weekend’s Silver Cup Race of Champions event in as scheduled. “It’s still so early in the week that if we get a break in the weather pattern we can dry out the pits in time,” said Gage. The Speedway recommends instead of constantly calling the track office phone for updates, to follow updates on our Facebook page or Twitter (sdspeedway) and website. “We will make a decision early enough to allow time for fans and teams to adjust,” said Gage. An array of pumps are working 24/7 to get as much water as we can out of the pit area.
Silver Cup is scheduled for this Friday, March 7th, and Saturday, March 8th. Three divisions will highlight the weekend. The winged 360’s, dirt modifieds and wingless sprints are all ready to pack the facility this weekend. Pit gate will open at 2 pm, front gate will open at 5 pm and qualifying for the winged sprint cars will start at 6:30 pm. Friday night general admission grandstand for adults is $15.00, junior and seniors $12.00, and kids $6.00. Saturday night general admission grandstand for adults is $20.00, junior and seniors $12.00, and kids $6.00.
Entries have poured in from all over the Western United States. Drivers from Washington, Oregon and Nevada along with California racers are all expected to converge this weekend at Chico. Silver Dollar Speedway track champions like Sean Becker, Andy Forsberg, Duane Cleveland, Randy and Ryan McDaniel are all ready to hit the track this weekend. The Nor-Cal Modified Challenge is scheduled for Saturday night while the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Shootout Series will also be on hand.
Over a $30,000 combined purse is on the line for the two nights of racing. Entry forms are available for download off our website at www.silverdollarspeedway.com.

Should be seeing something from Silver Dollar Speedway by today, would be my guess. The weather looks to be pretty decent thru the weekend, so im crossing my fingers they can get this race in.

I just came from a press luncheon at the Silver Dollar. Work is being done right now to pump water out of the pits
and run in the pit area. (large tractors etc.) Troy Henning said that the race is ON.

From SDS Facebook page:
"Just concluded Media Day. Now back to pumping water out of pit area. We are planning on racing both friday and saturday nights for Silver Cup. If that changes, we will update accordingly. Thank you."

Sean Becker, fast time, heat win, main event win from 8th.
He was extremely dominant in the 75 car last night.

I'm as big of a Rico fan as there is, but shouldn't you have to run both nights of the Silver Cup to win the Silver Cup ?

Pretty sure they are looked at as 2 single night shows. Otherwise, the top 4 of friday's program would have been locked into Saturday's main. But, i understand what you are asking, just not sure it is set up that way.

I love to see Rico win, but on one of the last restarts he past the 33v car before the cone at the start.
It looks like SDS chose to just let this slide.
