I just moved to Denver and have yet to break out my Speedway Directory. Other than the Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association and the ERA Supermodifieds are there any sprint cars in Colorado. If there are, I apologize for my ignorance, but please let me know what is available.

I think there might be some 305s (there were a while ago), but not much. Rocky Mtn Racing Assoc. or something?
I've been here quite a while & only see sprints on my travels to points east in the summer

Here it is, low budget 305s: http://www.unitedrebelsprintseries.com/rules.html
Mostly in Kansas
I've never been, contact me if you wanna go, I'm curious. Calhan isn't too far from Denver. I'm gone by the end of May so May 17 would be the one... or later in August

Nothing scheduled on the asphalt up at Colorado National Speedway in Erie this year.
You can run 90 miles up I76 to Ft Morgan and the I76 Speedway to see 305's and midgets several times starting in late April. www.i76speedway.com (I have never been there but enough people have told me that it is such a craphole that I would rather spend my Saturday nights in the Red Rocks parking lot)
Knoxville is only a 12 hour drive.

I forget the name, but there's a guy who lives in Denver & races weekly at Knoxville. I think he might leave his racer there & fly tho, not sure

I've driven by 76 Speedway & it doesn't look like much. I might cruise up there for 305s & midgets if nothing else was going on tho. They used to race midgets in Denver as recently as the 80s, I think. I was living in the mountains & never went, regret it now....

Ricky Montegomery from Lakewood.
I wonder if he had enough room to haul our butts there for a weekly show?

I have never made the trip "just" for Knoxville, but do try to make it a stop everytime I head in that direction.
There is a USAC @ Eagle and Knoxville weekly show mini-vacation plannedin early May if the weather cooperates.

Rapid City SD, Gillette Wy and Valentine Wy had sprint races last year. Calhan Co has a few URSS shows. Albuquerque has NMMRA which is Non wing 360.

I was tempted to go to Las Cruces until I discovered it was as far as KC, 10-12 hrs., almost in Mexico. LONG distances out West.....
Albuquerque is a lot closer

I saw a W of O's show in Denver about a decade ago, think Darryn Pittman won. It is where Richard Petty met with some of the dissenters who eventually left to form that other group...I remember Donny Schatz telling me some great stories in the pits that night, inclduing why he does so well at Williams Grove or tries as hard at least (back then)....great memories....

There are no tracks around the Denver metro area except for colorado national speedway which is paved and does run the supermodifeds and carc coupes-to the northeast is i-76 speedway in fort morgan ,and to the south is el paso county speedway in calhan, the calhan cars are sanctioned by the URSS and they do put on a good show.both are 305's.also the rocky mountain midget racing assoc. also runs at both tracks.

If it was "only" a decade a go, you were at the Rocky Mountain National Speedway, wedged in between the Rocky Mountain Arsenal and the Denver Internationa Airport near Commerce City.
If it was more than 22 years ago it was at the Colorado National Speedway which waa paved right around the time that NASCAR started the Craftsman Truck series.
Being the music lover that you are....did you get to Red Rocks Amphitheater? That's my 'hood now. (live about a mile away) Much easier to spend time in the parking lot listening than it is to drive 8-10 hours for a race.

Red Rocks looks like as good a venue as there is in the country, how special! I have seen shows (You-Tube and DVD) from there but never had the good fortune to catch anything there live, dang it! Jim, what brought you out there, work? It's God's country, I lived in Sister city Calgary for 6 years and I loved it there. Nothing wrong with clean, fresh mountain air every day of your life......
