Metric system has no place in sprint car racing. lol Might as well let them run square tails. ( Just kidding guys.)

It was my understanding they were only allowing ONE person to run this engine in 2014 on a trial basis.

Update on LS engine for UMSS winged sprint car division: Per Ron Bernhagen, this engine is an experimental R&D engine being run by ONLY Neal Matuska in 2014. The UMSS will be conducting research and development information on this engine throughout the course of the 2014 racing season at the various tracks the series visits. Neal was willing to make the investment in this engine knowing that it... may or may not be approved for general use for 2015 and on. Neal plans to run a pretty decent amount of the races on the schedule (maybe all of them if things work out). Neal also knows that he may be required to make several changes to his car during the 2014 season in order to collect R&D information on the engine and how it performs under various circumstances. Hopefully this should clarify any of the "rumors" that have been circulating regarding this engine in 2014. For everybody else, it is business as usual. We are not aware of anyone else that is willing to make the investment until the R&D has been completed.
