Congrats to Bryan Clauson--well deserved win. However, I was pretty disappointed when Sammy and Kyle went out. Wish I could go to a parallel universe and watch the finish of that race where those two don't get together and Kyle's motor holds up. It may have been epic. And maybe not--we will never know.

Great idea !!!! Can i go back to the night Sammy and Donnie did slide job after slide job for the lead at the nationals ? Because if Sammy hadnt of blown that tire that was gonna be one helluva celebration !!!!! By Sammy and fans .... hell , even you Sammy haters thought it was a great race. Sorry for hijacking ur thread , it just made me think if i could go back what race would it be?

Surprised you didn't mention a re-do of the '98 Knoxville Nationals.......That one ended just the way it should have :-).

Or the 1990 National's, although fixing Sammy's leaker might have taken the win away from Scruffy and we wouldn't want to risk that

Not looking to start a firestorm since I know that no harm was meant. But here's the deal. The Chili Bowl 2014 is over. Bryan Clauson won it. How do you win at the Chili Bowl. You beat 291 of the best in the business. You do it by preperation, a good car, driver skill, luck, and making no mistakes, more luck, and making the right decisions. I understand you are disappointed that Sammy was a lap down, Kyle blew up, but heres the facts. Bryan beat the reining 4 in a row champ Kevin Swindell, Dave Darland, Christopher Bell and a who's who of drivers. He did it by driving clean, making the right decisions, and not making a mistake. Please don't tarnish his golden driller. They are too hard to get. As for me I'd love a lot of do overs and mulligans but this is the way it played out. So instead of Congratulations.....but......... I will say Congratulations Bryan and your team. You won and earned your place in Driller history. With that said I will tip my JCT Mike Curb 1 and 39 hat to you. You have my RESPECT young man.

The OP said nothing to discredit BC and his win. He simply said he would like that have seen the race without Sammy and Kyle's misfortunes. I too would like to have seen the race play out as both Kevin and Kyle were slicing their way thru the pack. Nothing wrong with wanting to know how it would have turned out. It was an entertaining race nonetheless.

Yeah--I was giving no discredit to Bryan. He won and deservedly so. I was just on the edge of my seat--Larson flying through the field--big battle with Sammy ensuing--all while Kevin is coming through the field. All of the sudden, 2 of 3 are out of the picture. Bryan won fair and square and did hold off the 4 time defending champ. I'm just an entertainment whore--I would have liked to see him hold off all three! That would have been even better!

The only thing I wish is that Alex Bright would have finished in the top 3 to get the credit he deserves. 4th in the first non "Chili Bowl only" car. Talk about a great week and flying under the radar
Real race cars don't have fenders...

I agree...
I made a point to hunt down Alex after the race and shook his hand and told him how much I enjoyed watching him race in the A main. He had a huge grin and asked me if I thought he put on a good show for the fans.
Another young driver with obviously a ton of talent and destined for big things. I see he is already back in Australia racing.

Clauson all day - from the green flag he had a jump on Bell. Cheers to Bryan. Noblesville!
That was rough that Sammy and Larson got knocked out in that incident. You can only go four-wide for a moment - it was fun. Kevin smothering Bell into the wall, now that was a creative way to take over second that coulda all ended in tears.

That's why we all like racing and why we're heare reading your post. There's potential for many different scenarios at every show and more times than not a damatic story to go along with it.
