Anyone in the know about what appears to the naked eye to be 2 engines or 2 applications of the Esslinger midget motors?

Darren Hagen ran one this season/last (?) & Bryan Clauson just won the Chili Bowl with the version I'm talking about specifically.

Most Esslinger motors look pretty similar... like the Swindell cars.  Tilted over?  Not your typical look of standard upright motors.  Yes, they're not normal pushrod engines like a small block Chevy or Ford V-8... but look at the injectors & headers yourself & tell me it doesn't look all mixed up.

SOOOO... is Clauson's version simply mounted different?  I didn't see anything on Esslinger's website (yes, I looked before posting) that explained it.

Is it a completely different motor?

Thanks in advance if you have input-

I can't copy and paste links on this dumbass site...but go to Michael Pickens Racing on facebook.  He has a pic of his motor from where they had problems on practice night.  He has the inverted, air cleaner up top Esslinger

The engine you are talking about is called and RSI which stands for right side injector. The head on this engine is just a mirror image of a standard XT engine with the injection and exhaust reversed.

Both look like Ford Pinto or Ford Ranger engines to me.  Not sure how a Pinto is able to humiliate all the Corporate Toyotaaaa people year after year.  Esslinger must have some amazing people hanging out around their placewink

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?
