Yeah he even finished ahead of NASCAR's new marketing tool, Danicky!

Had a great year in open wheel racing. His actual results in nationwide were probably not what he was expecting. From what I watched, he only had few runs where it looked like he could win. I will say he finished strong at Homestead in both cup and nationwide. Gotta remember he does not have much seat time in tin tops, but almost everyone, (except maybe the other Kyle) think he will have a strong career, many wins, and championships. My guess, he will be the one to dethrone the Jimmy dynasty when he eventually slows down, they all do unless they retire.
I'm one of Kyle's biggest fans, but I do not think he was happy or satisfied with an 8th place finish in points. Look at the drivers who finished ahead of him Regan, Elliot, Allgaier (teamate), Bayne, Scott. Not exactly the cream of the crop. Hell Danica got 10th in points the previous year. On the otherhand he had 9 top top 5's, 17 top 10's against some of the best in the business. And it also looks like Chips' teams are getting better. It wouldn't surprise me if he finds a few wins in Nationwide and maybe sneak a Cup win in too. The Higher HP cup cars, longer races will suit him better plus the more seat time he will get should give him better results.
People forget, Cup racing is tough and has chewed up and spit many drivers out quickly, just look at Dario and Sam.

Last i checked the drivers don't build the cars, set the cars up, check the templates, check ride heights. While we're on the subject, how many times has Jimmie Johnson been caught cheating? lol

I thought the fact he didn't work on the cars was supposed to the issue you had with him. How'd he cheat without a wrench in his hand. You just can't make up your mind why you're one of the few around that didn't recognize his rare talent. Now slink back into your toilet bowl turd face or do something remarkable yourself.

Well screw it, they should start him off with 2 championships or put *'s by Johnson's 1st 2 since that team cheated & went on to win them.

Kyle is already better than 65% of the cup drivers.
It's nice to see Ganassi reward ability and talent, instead of ones marketing prowess.

Larson is definitely talented, but make no mistake, he's marketable as well. If I had to bet, Target had a big say on his call up to the big leagues.

It sure is hard to say that Larson is better than 65% of the Cup drivers. The kid has run 3 Cup races I believe? The names above (Regan, Elliot, Allgaier (teamate), Bayne, Scott) all finished ahead of him in points this year and that doesn't include Dillon and Hornish. Three former Cup winners on that list, a guy who has won the Indy 500, and a guy who has championships in the Trucks and Nationwide. By saying he's better than 65% of Cup guys, does that mean he's better than everyone of those guys who finished in front of him?
The expectations on this kid are through the roof. He obviously has an unbelievable amount of talent and it's awesome to see him get to this point so quickly, but let's not get carried away. If he can manage a top 20 in points next year, that would be a tremendous job. He will not be the Rookie of the Year next year either (unless Dillon has run too many races to qualify). Dillon is hooked up with a better team and has more experience in stock cars. I think Kyle will be better in the long run because I think he's got more flat out talent than Dillon does but I think next year Dillon will have more of an immediate impact.
And let's face it - Kyle got this job because of talent AND marketing prowess. If you don't think Kyle's commercial appeal played a large role in Target wanting him in the car, you're crazy. He's young, he's clean cut, and he's Japanese American. You'll see him all over Target adds before you know it. Nothing wrong with that at all, but to think that didn't have some effect on the decision for him to get this ride is inaccurate.
With all that said, he's probably already my favorite Cup driver behind Smoke. I look forward to watching him grow and learn.

IMO, Nascars plan will be to make sure Dillon wins the RoY next year. Wait and see how they manipulate the yellows etc. to make sure he finishes where he needs too. Can you imagine if "NASCAR Royalty" doesn't win it, to some "No Name" kid from "No Where" California. Good luck Kyle!
