Tulsa Oklahoma (October 10, 2013) – With another successful racing season in the books, the final Oil Capital Racing Series ‘Manufactures Performance Rankings’ are released. Topping the ‘Engine Builders’ category is Boyd Racing Engines with 62 points over Dyno Services of Oklahoma, which tallied 58 points. Boyd’s success was due in part to the 2013 Oil Capital Racing Series champion, Harli White, as the starlet from Lindsay, Oklahoma won all seven of Boyd’s victory triumphs out of the 22 races held for the season.
While Dyno Services of Oklahoma fell four points short of the top spot, DSO did send multiple drivers to victory lane. Danny Smith (twice), Casey Wills, Kacee Frazier and Kyle Clark all took checkers for DSO. Newcomer STK Racing Engines was third in the rankings (37 pts) and they made their presence in the series known in their initial OCRS season as all three of their drivers scored wins. Kade Morton, Chance Morton and Alex DeCamp, all rookies in 2013, won a feature with STK power. Kade also earned the 2013 Brodix / PM-Pro Rookie of the Year honors.
Other engine builders that saw feature glory were: Brand Racing Engines (Shane Sellers), Mattox Engines (Fred Mattox), Owens Engines (Gary Owens), P.O.P.S. Racing Engines (Mickey Walker) and Warrior Machine (Brian McClelland).
Maxim Chassis also achieved success in the chassis category through White’s seven wins but also saw three additional trips to victory lane as well. Shane Sellers, Danny Jennings and Mickey Walker were Maxim stars along with White. Maxim scored 66 points to top the chassis list while Eagle Motorsports had 59 pts and XXX chassis came in third with 57 pts. Eagle, who tallied success with consistent finishes, saw two checkers, one with Gary Owens and another with Alex DeCamp.
XXX Chassis saw six wins on the chalkboard led by Danny Smith’s two scores. Fred Mattox and Brian McClelland, along with brothers Kade and Chance Morton, were other XXX honor boys. A.R.T. Chassis (44 pts) saw three trips to victory lane. Andrew Deal, Casey Wills and Kyle Clark were the pilots. GF1 Chassis, a division of Ti22 Performance, found victory lane this season when Miss Kacee Frazier scored a popular win at Monett Speedway in Missouri.
Points are awarded on a 5-4-3-2-1 scale. Only the highest finishing result per manufacture in the chassis and engine categories are awarded MPR points. A car that is disqualified and taken out of the top five for any reason by OCRS officials will not receive points for that event.
Congratulations to all the chassis manufactures and engine builders that found racetrack success with the OCRS sprint car series in 2013!
