I was there, also went back for Sunday. I live just a little over 100 miles from there. Great racing Sunday and I think the track crew did a good job keeping the track in shape. I believe some late fall afternoon races would go over good but I'm not a promotor

Maybe it was just me cause i had 4 hrs to get home and be at work @ 6;30, but I didnt think they hustled through the program any. Dont get me wrong , I understand its a business and they need to sell concessions to help pay the bills. Im perfectly ok with that  . Once again maybe it was just me.  I did really enjoy the show and will DEFINITELY go back and have told all my friends that havent been there that its a great facility.

I'll agree with you on the speed if the show. They started late and didn't seem to be in much of a hurry. They did however work the track in a timely manner between the heats and features.

I was not there but had friends there, and I can say I`m sorry that I was not there the racing sounded good... with that being said I think you just have to go back and think was the racing good enough to warrent the show running a little long. A bad day at the races is better than a good day at work. And I don`t think I have ever had a bad day at the races.

I'm a Hoser that got hosed! Went to the ticket office at 5 on Sat. to ask what the plans were for the show if it rained. The lady said "It may take all night, but we will get the show in." I told my brother "Cool! Don't know if I can stay up all night but maybe for sprint cars." We drove 12 miles back to the cabin we rented for the weekend and got our warm clothes and rain gear and headed back to the track. After the rainout I went back to the ticket office and asked the same lady "What happened to going all night?" She said "Thats what they told us!" I really can't blame her. I have a 3.5 Hr. drive from Wheatland. I could have stayed for the Sunday show, but that would put me home after midnight. Could have handled that many years ago, but not any more. Work has to come before play. Work at 6. So, we came home and missed out on the Sunday show. Was anyone else told this B.S. story when they bought their tickets? Does the track really need the money that bad?  I hope they enjoy that $100 dollars my brother and I spent to watch hot laps and stand around for 1.5 hrs. in the rain.

Funny u say that. After 20 mins of rain and the promise of "we're getting this show in tonight"! My girlfriend n I went to the car and agreed that this wasn't looking good.   I told her it was a waste of time but she called Wheatland motel ( 8 rooms). The lady said someone just came from track grabbed their stuff n headed for home cause of the rain.  She said 1st person here with $ 55 can have the room. 5 mins later I had a place to sleep n felt like the luckiest guy in the world.  Went straight back to track and met the entire parking lot leaving!  Wtf?  Gal at the ticket shack said races tomorrow at 1. Turns out races at 3:30  gates open at 1. Races started late but my ordeal could've been a lot worse !  Oh yeah... the new girlfriend got an A plus for calling motel and an A++for never complaining about being cold n wet at the sprint car races. She might b a keeper!

the track has in the past been very forgiving and willing to work with people, if you had to go home contact the track, they very well might do something to make you feel better about having the tickets and missing the show.

The weather has often caused big headaches, they tried, saturday night but the weather building into more rain after system looked like it had passed was unpredictable. Sunday, who would have thought sunny, strong constant breeze and low humidity would take a track too wet at beginning of delayed hotlaps to become too dry after heat races just like so many summer daytime events, they worked and made track acceptable for a decent show, I say thanks to the track crew and the biggest supporter of dirt track racing

Of course she never complained.  She is a "new girlfriend".  Send me the same story in 10 years when she is your "old lady".  I would like to see how the night went for you!!   HAHAHAHA!

I was not there this weekend, but I have been there several times in the past.   The facilites are the gold standard to measure all other tracks.   Track prep/ track re-work has always been hit or miss.

I was at last years POWRi midget show when they decided to water the infield before the heat races.   They bring out a top of the line water truck that has three different water outlets.  (rear of the truck, left of the truck and right of the truck)  Of course, they did not verify which outlet was on before watering the infiled.   Instead of watering the infield, they rewatered the back straight.

They should not tell people "We are planning to race all night if thats what it takes" just to sell tickets! It's just not right! That is why it's cash only for tickets. If they accepted credit cards LOS would have to make refunds. I know VISA has gotten my money refunded on WoO tickets in the past. I thought the "Diamond" was the best in the midwest. I'm not so sure now. I've lost alot of respect for the entire Lucas deal. I have used Lucas products for the past 15 years. ( I have 6 vehicles to keep up with. ) The man has done so much for the motorsports community as well as the Wheatland community. The story of a self made millionare, is the American dream. It's a damn shame this puts a black eye on the "Diamond."

SO when did they stop taking credit cards??? The last 3 times I have been up there I have paid for my tickets with a card...

And have you even tried to contact the track about a refund?...Because not only have I had an easy experience with getting a refund from them once I have also called that place at some pretty goofy hours for a racetrack and had a real live person answer the phone...like 9:45AM on a Tuesday...

Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

OK at 7 there was no more rain on the radar, it appeared like the system had moved west, rain happens sometime, the minimum wage girl at the ticket office most likely has about as much clue as the kid at counter knows about the mc doanalds hamburger, have you called the track or emailed them, or just wined on here, there is no doubt that Lucas spent way more extra money trying to get the track worked in and then doing it all over again sunday that your or most likely 100 other tickets would cover

i was there for all 3 days.  Let me just say that it's shocking to think that a "fan" can walk into this race track and complain about anything.  The investment Mr. Lucas has made in the hand driers alone is worthy of high praise, to dig up some negative comments about a rain plagued event says allot about your level of appreciation for a true first class facility.

It says alot about your level of intelligence. I was not told by a "girl." She was an adult lady. Not a kid like carl is implying. Some of you don't get it. Tell it like it is or don't tell it at all! Have any of you ever heard that before? What happened to good old honesty? Years ago, I was punnished pretty hard for dishonesty. That lady did not dream up that story on her own. Don't get me wrong. I have never said that LOS is not a first class facility.

They worked the track all night. We ran Hot Laps and were ready for the Heats to start. Nobody expected those storms to come at the intermission. They weren't even on Radar. I think you're way out of line thinking they wanted to sell tickets knowing they would rain out.
