$1000 Season Finale for NCRA Sport Mods This Saturday Night!

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas - September 30, 2013 - One driver has it, three other drivers want it. Crowning a champion is what at stake this coming Saturday night as the Bob Howard PDC and MOPAR National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products southern sport mods division will end their fifth consecutive season at 81 Speedway in Park City. To add to the point chase intrigue, $1000 will be up for grabs for the night’s feature finale winner.

Despite having yet reach victory lane thus far this 2013 race season, Mark Harrison holds down a slim 35 point lead over former tour champion Todd Decker. Decker has one victory thus far this season and has reached victory lane at 81 Speedway once in previous events.

Depending on the car count, rookie of the year contender Kenny Morris and Cleo Adams are not of the picture as they are 200 and 205 points behind the point leader respectively.

Ross McCartney sits fifth in the standings and will look to overtake C. Adams for that fourth position in the final points as he is only 40 points behind him.

Bobby McGehee, Chris Lyons, J.D. Choate, rookie contender Steve Little and Courtney McCartney round out the top ten in points.

Also expected to compete are: Chad McNamara, Travis Johnson, Kyle Choate, Joe Adams, David Fisher, Craig Ridgway, Thomas Andsager and Bud Longpine. Close to thirty drivers are expected for the season finale.

Six different drivers have reached victory lane thus far this season, led by Robert Elliot and Brandon Smith, both drivers with two wins a piece, Other feature winners include first timers Cleo Adams and Bud Longpine, Joe Adams and Decker.

The series 360-ci sprint car division will also be in competition with that feature winner claiming 3000.

Pit gates will open at 5:00 PM with a start slated for 7:00 PM.

81 Speedway is located north of Wichita on I-135 to exit 16, then .7 mile west on 77th St. in Park City. For more race and ticket information contact the 81 Speedway office (316) 755-1781.

Since 1971 the NCRA has sanctioned dirt track races across the Great Plains with the series currently sanctioning five other divisions. They include modifieds, southern sport modifieds, late models, 360 sprint cars, 305 sprint cars and new mod lites. The 2013 season for the National Championship Racing Association is the 43rd anniversary season with races scheduled at sixteen different race tracks across Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri.
