ONE OF THE COUNTRY”S LARGEST MIDGET PURSES UP FOR GRABS AT THE 5th ANNUAL GOLD CROWN MIDGET NATIONALS!

USAC/POWRi Co-sanctioned

GRANITE CITY, IL (September 25, 2013) – Excitement and anticipation are building for one of the biggest midget events of the year. The running of the 5th Annual Gold Crown Midget Nationals, hosted at the historic Tri City Speedway, is sure to draw the best midget drivers and teams from across the country. With the history and tradition of the famed Tri City Speedway and a total purse over $100,000 up for grabs, racers and fans are looking forward to an exciting weekend of racing with just one question on their minds:  Who will be crowned this year’s Gold Crown Midget Nationals Champion?

Tri City Speedway, located in Granite City, Ill, is considered one of the nicest facilities anywhere in the country. With a racing surface that produces thrilling racing action, a huge purse up for grabs and plenty of off-track activities, this is a must see event for any race fan.

Co-sanctioned once again by the Honda USAC National Midgets Series and POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series, this crown jewel event will kick off Thursday, Oct 3rd with three nights of racing concluding on Saturday, October 5th. Both Thursday and Friday’s events will include Hot-Laps, Heats, C-Main, B-Main and a 25-lap, $3,000 to win feature event. For the first time ever, MOWA 410 Winged Sprints have been added to the Gold Crown Friday night line-up with a 30-lap $2,000 to win feature event.

Saturday’s events include Hot-Laps, Dash, 2 B-Mains and the 50-lap, $10,000 to win feature event. Saturday’s event will showcase the Speedway Motors 600cc POWRi Micros, along with the crowning of both the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Champion & POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Micros Champion.  At press time, Zach Daum holds a healthy points lead over Andrew Felker in the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series, but has not yet locked in the title. In POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Micros competition, the battle is much closer between Nathan Benson and Cale Thomas, and could go right to the wire in Saturday's finale at Tri-City.

Thanks guys. I have meetings in Chicago Tuesday, Wednesday , and early Thursday . I'm gonna drive down from there then fly home out of St. Louis . My ? Is should I take the 57 or the 55 down in my drive. Is one a better drive ? About 4 and a half hours either way,
