Oct. 4th I will be flying out for a job interview and I'd love to take in some west coast racing. I'll be in the Fremont area until Sunday. Thanks

Friday October 4th -Ocean Speedway, Watsonville, CA. 360 winged sprints, spec wingless, 6:00pm start time. Great little track on a nice fairground, usually a good show, heavy and often times pretty rough. It's about an hour south of Fremont, but expect traffic delays. If you have time, cut west on 92 a little north of Fremont and head over to Half Moon Bay, CA, then continue south on Hwy 1 through Santa Cruz, and then on to Watsonville. Beautiful drive, and beautiful time of year, it's a longer drive but you won't regret it. Also, if you have time, stop in Santa Cruz and do something, beaches, restaurants, wharf... anything, probably be some decent surf so you could check out some talented surfers doing their thing. Nothing else in the area as far as sprint car racing but it's an incredible part of the country so, if possible, take some time to take it in.

I highly recommend going to Ocean Speedway. They have a great roster of weekly drivers and you have a few KWS drivers top in from time to time. You may see TK this weekend. Plus the 1/4 mile bullring produces some great racing.
Bring warm clothes.... when the sun goes down... it's cold!!!!!

On that Saturday there is an open 360 winged show at the Marysville Raceway Park that too should see some of the regions bigger names as it is the only winged race in the area on that night I beleive...

Thanks for all the input, the Ocean Speedway really sound like its right up my alley, I sure do love my bull rings. Hopefully next season, if all goes well with my interview, Ill be sitting in the stands all the time out there. Also thanks for the advice on what else is goin on besides racing.

Ocean Speedway is a cool little joint. The competition is usually pretty damn tough there especially this time of year when the locals that like to travel are generally back home for the season. Guys like TK, Tarlton, Golobic and even young Scelzi get around that place really well and put on a hell of a show. Too bad youre not going to be around during the Trophy Cup though as that would be "THE" show for you to see.
Cheers!
