Donald ( Butch ) Young, 67, of Des Moines, Ia. passed away Monday, Sept. 16th after a lengthy illness.
For those of you who do not recognize the name, Butch was Danny Youngs father and together they raced the 3y sprintcar in and around central Iowa mostly at Knoxville and the State fairgrounds track in Des Moines until Dannys tragic death in 1995 at Knoxville. Butch also provided a car for Lloyd Beckmans last sprintcar feature win at Webster City, Ia.
R.I.P. Butch, you will be missed.

I was at Webster City when Loyd Beckman won the feature .He was not a young man probably near 70 but the smile on his face was priceless.Seems there was a protest or engine claim but regardless Loyd looked like a young man until He removed his hemet.Danny Young was a really good driver that left way to soon doing what He loved.
