NCRA Sport Mods Tackle the Salina High Banks This Saturday Night!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – September 8, 2013 - It is back to championship point racing action this coming Saturday night as the Bob Howard PDC and Mopar National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sport modified division makes their annual appearance at the Salina High Banks in Salina, Oklahoma.
The stop will play a pivotal role in the 2013 championship point’s race as only one race remains after this event.
After eight events, Kingfisher, Oklahoma’s Mark Harrison leads the current point standings with a very slim point lead over former tour champion Todd Decker. Kenny Morris, Cleo Adams and Ross McCartney round out the top five in the standings and all those drivers have a mathematical shot at the title. Only 190 points separate the top five in the standings while the battle for the sixth through tenth positions is also up for grabs.
Also scheduled to compete include tour regulars J.D. Choate, Bobby McGehee, Chris Lyons, Chad McNamara, Steve Little, Courtney McCartney, Kyle Choate and David Fisher.
Previous tour winners at the Salina High Banks are Travis Johnson (’02) and Kinzer Edwards (’01).
Thus far this season, eight races have been held at five different venues. They include: Robert Elliot (81 Speedway); Todd Decker (Elk City); Brandon Smith (81 Speedway, Route 66 Motor Speedway); Cleo Adams (Kansas State Fairgrounds) and Joe Adams (Siloam Springs Speedway).
Gates open at 5:00 PM with racing slated for a 7:00 PM start time. The Salina High Banks Speedway is located nine miles east of Pryor on highway 20. Track phone is (918) 434-7223.
