Double Header Weekend Await NCRA Modified Division!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – August 27, 2013 - The battle for the 2013 National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified championship will be a lot clearer after this coming Labor Day weekend as two events are scheduled to take place.

It all starts on Saturday night at the home of the series, 81 Speedway in Park City where Ryan Gustin, Tyler Davis and John Allen have taken home victories.

Then the tour travels north to the famed Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kansas for the annual Sunday night event over the Labor Day weekend.  In the tour’s last appearance as the famed half mile it was Josh Lanterman taking home his first career series victory after surviving a brush with the guard rail, a flat tire and a trip to the pits.

As mentioned the point chase contenders will separate themselves from the rolls of spoilers as only 50 points speparate the top five in the standings.

Two-time and defending tour champion Marc Hurd currently sits atop the standings and holds a thirty point lead over Dustin Belcher. Lanterman his brother Dan Powers are tied for third in the standings and are only 40 points out of the point lead. Powers won this Labor Day event last year. Not to be left out, Enid, Oklahoma driver A.J. Brochu is the lone hope in bringing the title back to the “Sooner State” and sits just 50 points behind.

Other drivers in the top ten expected to compete both nights include. Jason McGehee, Don Hodge, Jon Thompson, Justin Moler and Joe Adams. Also expected are Jimmy Brozek, Ross Shipman and Kirby Robe.

Tour winners for the season are; Gustin, Davis, Allen, Lanterman, Franz and the most recent feature winner Alan Sharpensteen.

Also competing at the Belleville High Banks will be the series 360-ci sprint, late model and mod-lite divisions.

Gates at 81 Speedway on Saturday night will open at 5:00 PM with racing slated for a 7:00 PM start time. The track is located north of Wichita on I-135 to exit 16, then .7 mile west on 77th St. in Park City. For more race and ticket information contact the 81 Speedway office (316) 755-1781.

Sunday night’s Belleville High Banks show will see gates open at 5:00 PM with race time slated for 7:30 PM. It will be a full plate of NCRA racing as the late models will be joined by the series 360-ci sprint, modified and mod-lite divisions.

The Belleville High Banks is located 2.0 miles north of US 36 on US 81, then 0.4 mile southeast on M St. to 7th St., then 0.1 mile east (near the water tower, at the North Central Kansas Fairgrounds).
