Big Events Left for NCRA Late Model Tour!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – July 30, 2013 - The National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products late model tour is half way down on their 2013 race schedule and five big races remain as they look to crown yet another tour champion in the post-Kelly Boen era.

Following the steps of last year’s tour champion Tommy Weder, Jr., a rookie leads this year’s point standings as G&G Dozer rookie of the year contender Jacob Magee of Caney, Kansas leads the current standings and holds a 220 point lead over Wichita, Kansas driver Jimmy Segraves. Veteran Gary Gorby, fellow G&G Dozer rookie contender Jeremy Petty and Chase Junghans round out the top five in the point standings.

Ryan Gustin picked up the season opening victory at 81 Speedway in Park City and became the first driver to ever win a season opening event in two of the series tour events in the same season. Also picking up victories were the following: Tony Jackson, Jr. in a co-sanctioned effort with the MARS DIRTcar series at Monett Speedway and 81 Speedway. Segraves picked up his first career series victory at the Belleville High Banks while Kyle Berck laid claim to yet another “NCRA Late Model Nationals” championship at Mid-Nebraska Speedway in Doniphan, Nebraska.

The rest of the 2013 schedule for the NCRA Late Model tour looks like this:

August 9-10 – Junction Motor Speedway/McCool, Nebraska

August 24 – Thunder Hill Speedway/Mayetta, Kansas

September 1 – Belleville High Banks/Belleville, Kansas

September 20-21 – Salina High Banks Speedway – Salina, Oklahoma

The tenth annual “King of the Hill Late Model Shootout” is next up for the tour and will see their familiar partners of the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association once again part of the event. For the first time in the events history they will be joined by the MARS DIRTcar series.

For the first time since 2010 the tour will make a trip to Thunder Hill Speedway while the annual Labor Day weekend appearance at the Belleville High Banks will once again take place. The 2013 race season is set to come to an end with a special two day event at the Salina High Banks Speedway as they will join forces with the MARS DIRTcar series. This was originally scheduled as a one day event back on June 15th but that event got ppd. by rain.
