This will be my first visit to the Short Track Nationals in October. I hear they have reserved camping which is sold out. Do they also have additional camping in a free lot? I plan to drive down Thursday and just pull in the parking lot and find a spot. Will I be ok?
I hear the racing is fantastic and the camping/grandstand area produces some good times. I will take any advice you have about the weekend.

cant "just show up" there and get a spot. I would call the track and talk to them directly. I know a lot of people get there on Tuesday and that was with it starting on Thursday. So, call them and get on the camp spot waiting list or as already mentioned, go ahead and get a hotel room.

I don't do hotel rooms for racing ... never have and never will.
What kind of racetrack/big event does not have ample room for camping? Is this event too big for the track/property?

Call the track. They may have some spots. If not, they may have when the renewal deadline passes. thecamp ran rv park just a few miles down the road from the track as well in Benton, ar.

Im sure the camping is sold out year in advance. Doubt if your just gonna be a le to pull up & stay. Parking lot will be full by noon everyday. Best thing to do is talk to people who live around the track & try to partner up for future stn's. been to the last 15 of them. Hope this is helpfull. Go TeamJJR/StenhouseJr

It has gotten to big for the property over the last 5 years or so. Half the parking lot is camping & the other half is vehicle parking & then there will be a ton of people parking an exit or two down the road

Outside of Eldora, I can't think of any racetrack that has ample room for camping alone (except NASCAR venues).
