$2000 to win Hutch Nationals Await NCRA Modifieds!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas - July 10, 2013 -
The tradition continues:
Current tour point leader Marc Hurd will let the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified division into the 57th annual O'Reilly Auto Parts Hutchinson Grand Nationals presented by Midwest Ford/Toyota of Hutchinson this coming Friday and Saturday night, July 12-13, atop the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Two complete sets of heat races will be run on Friday night and will set starting line ups for the last chance events and the $2000 to win, $300 to start twenty car championship feature finale on Saturday night.
Hurd is a two-time Hutch Nationals champion ('08, '10) and comes into the weekend with a 65 point lead over Dan Powers. Don Hodge sits third and 90 points out of the lead while Dustin Belcher and A.J. Brochu round out the top five in the point standings.
Sixth in the current point standings is Josh Lanterman, fresh off his first career series victory at the Belleville Highbanks this past Saturday night. Seventh through tenth in the points are: Jason McGehee, Jon Thompson, Justin Moler and Tyler Davis.
Other drivers expected to compete include: Gary Kilbourn, Kirby Robe, Jimmy Brozek, Joe Adams, former tour champions John Allen and Brian Franz, Ross Shipman, Kirk Coleman and Craig Crossett. Over forty drivers from three states are expected.
So far this 2013 race season four different drivers have reached victory lane in the four events that have been held thus far. They include the most recent winner Lanterman, Allen, Davis and Ryan Gustin. In fact, dating back to last year there have been thirteen different feature winners in the last fourteen races held. Last year's winners on the tour include; Ryan McAninch, Dan Powers, Gene Weaver, Marc Hurd, last year's Hutch Nationals winner Tanner Mullens, Travis Johnson, Kenny Sweet, the only repeat winner in two years Davis, Johnny Bone, jr. and Jason McGehee.
The Kansas State Fairgrounds is located off of West of SR 61 on 17th Ave., then north on Poplar. Pit area check-in opens at 3pm, grandstand opens: 5pm; Hot Laps: 6pm; Race Time: 7pm. Grandstand general admission is $15.00 for age s 11 & up; $5.00 Children 6-10 and all pits passes are $25. Hot laps begin at 6 pm with race time starting at 7:00 pm.
