Jordan Weaver Finally Gets First Career Sprint Victory!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Midwest City, Oklahoma - June 24, 2013 - After several years of trying, Woodward, Oklahoma's Jordan Weaver finally had it all come together as she claimed her first career sprint car victory Sunday night during weekly competition at her home track, 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas.

Spending time competing with the National Championship Racing Association's 305-ci, 360-ci sprint car divisions as well as competing with the United Rebel Sprint Series as well as a few trips to Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas, the young female driver is on cloud nine after finally taking the checkered flag, the first of any kind on a dirt oval. Her previous best career finish in a sprint car came last year at Enid Speedway in Enid, Oklahoma in NCRA 360-ci competition where she finished fourth.

"I have a couple of motocross victories but that is nothing compared to this," said Weaver. "This first win is awesome and I had been thinking about it for a long time. I really hope there is more to come."

Weaver started on the pole for the feature with fellow female driver Conner Atkinson along her outside. "She got the jump on me at the start but I felt had enough motor to pull her down the straightaway. The car felt really good all night and I was just hoping I could keep running my line and it all worked out."

Despite a rough series of flips in her first attempt of non-wing sprint racing late last season, that hasn't detoured her from strapping into a sprint car. While she will admit she is not the best in a sprint car and is not 100% comfortable, she does feel she is getting there every weekend. "I seem to improve on knowledge on what to do to the car and what I want to do to the car and I am starting to feel what changes are doing and it's really helping a lot."

As is always the case after that breakthrough victory, her goals now are to continue to improve and get more consistent runs. "I am hoping this can jump start some momentum and I can start making some good runs everywhere else and maybe even a few more wins."

Weaver and her #92 Maxim chassis her 305-ci motor is powered by ASI racing engines. Her sponsors include 305/fk Rod Ends, Alternative Pest Management, a2z Oil Field Services, Pat McVicker Oil Field Services, ASI Racing Engines, Ron Miller Motor Company, Live Fast Designs and Audit Consulting.

Keep up on all the happenings on her facebook page: Jordan Weaver Racing #92.
