Elk City Speedway Ready for USMTS Visit!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Midwest City, Oklahoma – June 13, 2013 - Make plans now to attend the first ever appearance by the United States Modified Touring Series at the Elk City Speedway in Elk City, Oklahoma on a special Sunday night of racing, June 23rd. Over forty of the top modified drivers from around the country are expected to compete at the Elk City dirt track oval including Ryan Gustin, Jason Hughes, Kelly Shryock, Johnny and Stormy Scott, Jeremy Payne, Chris Brown, Steve Whitaker, Jr., Dereck Ramirez, Zac Vanderbeek, Thomas Tillison, Jr. and Amarillo, Texas driver Rodney Sanders – who has competed many times at the speedway.
Non-tour regulars also expected to do battle include Gene Weaver, Dee and Jeremy Gossett, Calvin and Austin Bonner, Mickey Lassiter, Harley Menacher, Dusty and Bobby Mayfield – just to name a few. Over forty cars are expected for the series' inaugural visit to the three-eighths mile clay oval.
General admission prices for this show will be $15 for adults; kids ages 12-15 $7; ages 6-11 $2 and children five and under free. Seniors will be admitted into the grandstands for just $7. All pit passes are $30.
Pit gates open at 4:00 PM while grandstand gates will open at 5:00 PM. Hot laps start at 6:00 PM with racing slated for a 6:30 PM start time.
