Lonnie Wheatley, NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (July 14, 2007) – Defending American Sprint Car Series Northern Plains Region champion Chuck Swenson snared his second series victory of the year by topping Saturday night's 25-lap feature at Cedar Lake Speedway.
Swenson outdueled Curt Lund and Scott Winters, taking the point for keeps on the 16th lap aboard the Fisher-powered K&C Conversions No. X Maxim.
Polesitter Winters paced the opening eleven rounds before fourth-starter Lund surged in front. After starting sixth, Swenson claimed the lead on the 13th lap only to have Winters battle back in front.
Swenson recaptured the lead on the 16th round and held on the rest of the way. Winters and Lund traded the runner-up slot in the final rounds before Lund finally secured the positions.
Winters settled for the show position, with Dave Glennon and Billy Balog rounding out the top five. Tony Hargrave crossed the stripe sixth, with Dave Becker, John Nelson, Tony Norem and Lee Grosz completing the top ten.
