It was a FANTASTIC IRA FEATURE Sunday night June 2nd at Eagle Valley Speedway! It was a blast to watch Brooke Tatnell and Billy Balog work lapped traffic and battle each other lap after lap. The lone caution in the 30 lap main was an unfortunate one for Brooke. As they were coming to the white flag, the red flew for Alan Gilbertson in turn 2 and I believe Darrell Dodd was slowing as well. This set up a G-W-C dash to the cash. Under the stoppage, Brooke's car was steaming hot. It refired okay, but seemed to me to just not quite take off exactly the same as it did at the start. Tatnell decided to go low in turn one, Balog went high, and out of two Billy had the lead. At the finish it was Balog, Tatnell and Travis Whitney. Great run for Balog tonight. He really had to work for this win. Sometimes it's like you're a sitting duck out front on a restart like that. Which way to go? You know the driver in second is probably going to go the opposite of what you choose. Wow, what a great feature race to watch though. Both of them were really driving! I'm pretty sure 18 of the 22 starters were still running at the end. Hats off to all of the IRA drivers for an enjoyable two nights at CLS and EVS.
