NCRA Sport Mods at 81 Speedway This Sunday Night!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas - May 21, 2013 - The Bob Howard PDC and Mopar National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sport modified division gets its season back in gear this coming Sunday night as race number two on the 2013 schedule is set to take place at 81 Speedway in Park City. This event replaces the previously cancelled event that was scheduled for Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas.
This event will kick off two straight weekends of racing for the tour as they will take part in the annual Elk City/Amarillo trip next weekend.
Robert Elliot off Clinton, Oklahoma picked up the season opening victory back in April and claimed the special $2000 first place prize and is tied with Mark Harrison in the point standings. Kinzer Edwards, Todd Decker and defending champion Travis Johnson are top five in the point standings while Chad McNamara, Cleo Adams, J.D. Choate, Ross McCartney and Brandon Smith round out the top ten. Other drivers expected to compete include; Courtney McCartney, Greg and Andy Deterding, Thomas Andsager, Craig Ridgway, Tim Ford and Frank Gravens. Close to thirty drivers are expected.
The series late model division will also be competing on this night.
In the previous four year history of the NCRA sport mod division, seven events have been held at 81 Speedway with Johnson and Smith both having two feature victories at the three-eighths mile oval a piece. Also picking up feature victories at the track have been Joe Adams, Todd Decker, Jeff Autry
Pit gates will open at 4:00 PM with a special Sunday night start time of 6:00 PM.

Since 1971 the NCRA has sanctioned dirt track races across the Great Plains with the series currently sanctioning five other divisions. They include modifieds, southern sport modifieds, late models, 360 sprint cars, 305 sprint cars and new mod lites. The 2013 season for the National Championship Racing Association is the 43rd anniversary season with races scheduled at sixteen different race tracks across Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri.
