The ASCS Nationals Sprints visit I-80 on May 23
The fastest 360 Sprint Cars in the country will be making their annual visit to I-80 Speedway on Thursday, May 23. The ASCS National Sprint Cars Series presented by MAVTV will be joined by the Speedway Motors ASCS Midwest Region Sprint Car Series and the CarpetLand Nebraska 360 Sprint Car Series. The event will pay $3,000 to win and $400 to start.
“The Rajin Cajun” Jason Johnson is once again atop the ASCS National point standing. The three-time and defending series champion is followed in the ASCS National point standing by Johnny Herrera, Brad Loyet, Seth Bergman and Tony Bruce, Jr. Other national drivers expected to be in attendance are; Logan Forler, Jeff Swindell, Dustin Morgan, Cole Wood and Shawn Petersen.
After two races at I-80 Speedway in early April at the Spring Meltdown, Jack Dover sets atop the ASCS Midwest point standings, followed by Lucas Wolfe, Gregg Bakker, Danny Lasoski and Jake Martens. Dover and Bakker picked up wins at the Meltdown. Dover is also the Nebraska 360 Sprint Car point leader picking up the series first ever feature win at the Butler County Speedway. Danny Lasoski won last year's ASCS National Event at I-80 Speedway.
In addition, three NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly racing classes will be racing. Those include; Super Late Models, Ty's Outdoor B Mods and ARR Towing & Recovery Hornets. Pit Gates open at 4:00 pm, Grandstands at 5:30 pm, with Racing at 7:15 pm. Grandstand Admission is $22 for Adults, $5 for Juniors (6-12) with 5 and under free.
