By telephone from OSS...... 22 cars; many Perris CRA cars and drivers...... Everyone (of course) made the main....... FT: cardey...... heat one: Cardey, Gaunt, Faas...... heat two: D. Gardner, Cody Williams, Austin Williams...... heat three: Mitchell, K. Perkins, Spencer...... main: Spencer from the pole, D. Gardner, Faas, Cardey, Gaunt...... Gardner passed Spencer, but had to go back because of a yellow...... Just like the Gas Man before him, Mikey's the "money driver."

Well done Scotty and all involved. This was good and I can't wait for the next one . The OSS will be a very nice venue for many years to come.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Well let me be the first to ask the queation. I drove from phoenix for the race I can ask. Gardner passed spencer coming out of four. He was ahead at the line. Gardner took the caution on the very next lap as the leader. Why was he put back to second? We revert back to the last completes lap upon caution, gardner led the last official lap before the yellow. This is not like nascar where the field is frozen, wego by the flag stand. What was the deal there? Thanks for the good time scotty, I hope to come out again. The track was the best all night just before the main, your team worked hard on it. Nothing more could have been done, it will get seasoned and hold the water better with time. Props to you really glad I was the

Was confused also . But was told he never made it back to flag stand before yellow came out to complete lap. I still think Demon had him . Thought he had completed the lap myself. But I was watching them and not the rest of the field at the time.

Hey I am not trying to be an ass, doing that does not take much effort for me usually, but I just watched the highlights. Gardner led the last officially completed lap before the caution came out, the yellow flew; so if we revert to the last officially completed lap Gardner should have been the leader. Even if he only led a small part of that lap, he was scored the leader. I don't see any other way to view that situation. Yes he did not complete a full lap as the leader, but led the last officially completed lap so that is all that should matter.

Gardner don't need me to take up for him, I was hoping the 66 was going to pull it off in fact. But the question deserves an answer and the answer given on the post I am replying to don't make sense to me.

Here is the ruling... For it to be a completed lap the whole field has to complete the lap not just the leader... Meaning Perkins and the few others that were right infront of the leaders would have needed to finish the lap before cal spun

Yeah it looks like they messed up on the pass by Damion. Once he passed the start finish line that lap was complete. The yellow came out as they were going into turn three after they passed the start finish line. However, with the cars being stacked up like they were I am sure scoring was very difficult. Tough call it could of gone either way. To the point above if that were the case then if the leader takes the checker and the lap car infront of them spins in turn one do they restart the race?

The last lap revert is not just for the leaders it's for the whole field... If there is a pass for 8th we still revert.. You can't use 1 lap for the first half of the field and the lap before for the other half... So for a lap to be "complete" all lead lap cars have to have finished that lap besides lapped cars and cars involved in caution. Perkins and and Logan were still on the lead lap but had not crossed the finish for that lap when the yellow came out to make it a completed lap

Good insight guys, appreciate the words. Makes sense and you do learn something every day if you keep your eyes and ears open... never looked at it that way. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week, thanks again.

Scotty answered it well. No one made any mistakes on scoring. It is the way it has been done for years. ALL cars have to cross for the lap to count...

Okay here we go.....1.when the yellow comes out in a sprint car race we revert back to the last COMPLETED lap(all cars)...this is not new or a rule we will change. Some times it works for you and some times it works against you. Scotty

Not the first time I've seen the black flag... I don't think I will be protesting this ruling before the appellate division of hose heads forum. We'll accept the decision and move on to more important things like:

Can anyone stop RJ Johnson in Arizona? My goodness he is on a tear, good for him. He's got a great car, that team surely works hard at it. I don't venture to the east side too often but I am going to AZ Speedway on Saturday fo sho.

Almost have the 360 together now, can't wait to go broke again! Cheers everyone, and hell yes stay thirsty what ever you do this weekend.
