Veteran sprint car driver and three-time Pay Less Little 500 winner Jeff Bloom returned to the track for the first time since a racing accident August 25th, 2012. Bloom was taking advantage of an open practice session at Anderson Speedway in preparation for Sunday afternoon's 13th annual Glen Niebel Classic USSA sprint car 100-lap event.
Bloom suffered severe burns to his hands, arms, and lower extremities after a fiery accident at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich. during the TRUFUEL Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series season finale on August 25. Bloom has spent the majority of the off season rehabbing and receiving treatment for his injuries. If Bloom competes as planned Sunday afternoon, it will be a remarkable recovery in such a short time considering the severity of his injuries.
