Personally I really love going to Antioch and it has turned into a really racy track since they changed the track configuration a few years ago! The WoO races at Antioch last 2 years in September were awesome! Chico is also a really good track especially for Gold Cup! I am going to Antioch on Friday for the WoO race! Personally I think we have the best short tracks in the U.S!
Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Its not Woo but the best race of the year is The Trophy Cup.
http://trophycup.org/
I don't know of any other race that's run like it, all 24 cars line up according to points(no sandbagging here) with a complete inversion for the A main on Sat.
If you go to one, you will be hooked.

From personal experience, you and them will enjoy the Trophy Cup way More than the Gold Cup.

I go to both every year and I'm a Trophy cup fan all the way.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

I'd go watch sprintcars Thursday-Sunday. Chico will have the 360 and nonwing race Thursday, Goldcup Friday & Saturday and WoO @Antioch Sunday.
The top 5 openwheel events in Cali this year are The GoldCup, Trophy Cup, Turkey Night Grand Prix, The Johnny Key Classic & Woo @Stockton, in that order.

The Gold Cup is definitely the least of what I'd call the signature events on the WoO schedule: Knoxville, Kings Royal, Natty Open and Gold Cup. They need to move it from Chico to somewhere with atmosphere.

Ive been to the LVC and the ON at the PAS. I don't remember them being as big of a deal as the debut of the new Stockton dirttrack. Over 12k fans in the stands & pits at a soldout event. I will go to both this season. If they are bigger events than Stockton was, I will be the first to come on here and say you guys were right and I was wrong.

The amount of fans at a show is not the yard mark for a good show. If it was

Not to mention the fact that neither event is held in a shithole town like Stockton which definitely gives both a leg up on any event held there.

northern calif has way better racing than the WoO the Louie Vermeil - trophy cup and Johnny key are must see events and there are many other racing events in calif I would go too over the WoO but if it has to be WoO later in the year it should be gold cup its to bad your not here now the WoO are racing on some of the best nor cal tracks right now chico and Antioch are no longer on the list of nor cal's best but Antioch is trying to come back and can be a pretty racy joint so if you want atmosphere go to Chicos gold cup but if you want good racing go to Antioch but if you want to see a great event with great racing live bands wine/beer tasting and a free car show go see the Louie Vermeil clasic at Calistoga's beautiful 1/2 mile

Antioch or Tulare. Chico is good to. But.............the trophy cup is the best race out here. And it brings a lot of great racers and this year I think the purse is 40K! That's at Tulare. Problem with Tulare is a hole developes in turn 1 (you can guaruntee every race) and cars start flipping like mad. Sometimes it screws up the race. Ask Kinser, he hit it in qualifying a few weeks ago and flipped!! And that was just Qualifying!!! Since your coming out if the fall, i would pick Antioch.

If Tulare doesn't do something about the track prep or bring in new clay, the trend of rubber down track and a cushion is razor thin and sucks drivers into the wall, the Trophy Cup luster will begin to tarnish. I hope the surface gets a face lift something this season and fresh clay is brought in and the great racing we are use to seeing returns to Tulare and the T-Cup. Same goes for Calistoga. Hopefully, the changes they made will bring "racing" back there as well. Chico realized this and got it right just in time for last years Gold Cup. Great racing has been restored there.
