anybody question the track safety at marysville pit road what a fucked up mess.why would they allow anybody in that area.take a look at the catch fence.this is not your every sat. night locals race.these are 1200 pd. 800 hours power rockets.no way this track can handle this type of race.Myself and family and all my friends will never be back.Take your rain check and but it where the sun dont shine. My heart goes out to the victums.

I'm sorry to hear what happened. I hear the track is real nice now, but the cars can shootoff right into the pits where people are aloud to walk. I guess they need a pit out gate to be opened everytime cars leave the track.

Excuse me? I have no idea who you are but to take this kind of shot at Marysville is about as ignorant as it gets. Is the layout there perfect? No. But to suggest that what happened there couldn't happen at any number of Northern California racetracks is just bullshit. That very same incident could very easily take place at Chico especially when the joint is full like during the Gold Cup and that is just one example. In fact Tulare is about the only place I can think of with a fence in the turns separating the cars from the pits that would have had any shot at keeping what it sounds like happened at Marysville from happening. Edit your post down to "My heart goes out to the victums" because that's about all you needed to say.

My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy, especially the families. California has always been an amazingly resilient and supportive race community.

what are you talking about. at chico as well as petaluma, antioch, tulare the pits are on the back of the track.the cars come of the track in turn one onto a road and go around to the back of track giving them time to slow down. The road is off limits to anybody during race conditions.Get your facts right before you reply next time. I stand by my comments.

Hopefully for everyones sake you are right. Chico pits cars all the way around that track if they need to and apparently you have never been to a Gold Cup. As for facts one thing I don't do is talk out of my ass. What happened there is no doubt one of the worst trajedys we have ever experienced but I have been going to Marysville since 1991 and how many incidents like this have we had? Until last weekend none. The layout has been pretty much the same the entire time since I'm guessing you probably did not know that.
