Hi, I decided to register here to talk about my new love for dirt track racing and I was wondering some things about Dirtvision. Can I put someone else's credit card on my account? I don't have one and so I have to use my dad's. I have been able to other places.

Also, do they mostly just film with one camera and take the announcing from the track? That's not really a problem just asking.

A few years back, I caught a dirt race up at Lebanon valley, It was so fun, never seen anything like it. But its just now that I've been getting into this form of the sport. Glad to be here!

Welcome aboard.

I'm sorry I can't answer your questions about Dirt Vision, but it's always good when sprint car racing makes a new fan.

That's okay. Smile Yeah, I've loved Nascar all my life.. over 20 years, I would see random sprint races but turn the channel cause I didn't understand it...but I watching the woO finals on youtube... and was fascinated by how they race.. I'd say its much more fun then a nascar race.

I don't think using someone elses card to pay would be a problem. You just need to first sign into your Dirtvision account, which sign up for that is free and you don't put any card info in at that point. That is the point that you can listen to the free audio broadcasts. If you want to pay for the video broadcast you then click on the video link for that race and it takes you to the page that you enter your card info, along with the numbers on the card you also enter the name on the card, which tells me it doesn't matter who's card it is as long as you enter the correct name that is on it.

On the # of camera's, I'm not positive but I think they may be doing 2 camera's this year.

Thank you! There is no archived audio I assume?

No, I don't think they archive any of the audio it doesn't look like. About a month ago would have been a good time for you to be in the archives cause they threw a bunch of last years video'd races in the archive for free. But it looks like now there all off except 1 of the World finals 1's at the very end of the archives, that 1 is still free. Youtube is good for watching past races though. Heres one from Speed from last year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSs5xAEAdhQ

No, but the woO sprints race up at Lebanon in July.. I'm gonna try to get up there for that. My Dad likes the dragway up there but we did go to that one dirt race. I think it was just the local mods tho.

PA is one of the best places for Sprint Cars as well if your willing to travel a little bit and not REAL far from the sounds of it to you. Williams Grove is a place most of us really want to see at some point (along with Knoxville Iowa and Eldora). Although honestly any would do for your 1st experience, because you'll be blown away with it in person where ever it is...

All these years of showing sprint car racing on TV and on Dirtvision.com and hoping it would make new fans...well, we at least got ONE! haha

Thanks for becoming a fan!

Hate to see you would turn the TV channel at times though because you didn't understand it.

As the color annalist for the TV broadcasts it has been my job to explain sprint car racing and the technical aspect of it to the viewers at home. I will try to keep this post and you in mind during our broadcasts and work at doing a better job in helping people like yourself understand the best form of racing in the world!

Hope you can get to some "live" events this season to experience the sounds, the smells, and the excitement first hand!

Thanks Brad! The thing I didn't really understand when I watched on Versus or Speed randomly is how the sprint cars worked in the dirt. It's hard for me to explain it but I'd see these cars slipping and sliding and didn't undstand the reasoning for it... I'm used to going to local asphalt tracks, watching Nascar and applying that to sprint cars doesn't really work.

The more I pay attention and watch though, I feel like the more I understand... I will say, even with Nascar, they don't really discuss the tech. aspects either so it's not some problem that just Sprint cars have.

I was considering the $69.99 season pass, but I see they don't have their season schedule up yet. Has anyone else used this service out there that would have some input on it? Either positive or negative? I would like to see a lot more races this season but want to know if the season pass is worth it or not. If anyone could give me some input I would really appreciate. thanks.

I've purchased it the last few seasons and it's definitely worth it. You'll get somewhere around a dozen of the sprint races as well as some late models and modifieds too. Best bang for the buck, ends up at around $5 a race. They usually cover some of the bigger races as well. And you also get access to the archived races that you can view whenever if you missed one.

I haven't seen this years product, but from previous years experience I'd say go for it. They added a few more live broadcasts last year I believe, as well as changed their media player.

They also used Turn 2 Media a few times, who provides the excellent weekly Knoxville streams, so I don't know if they are using them this season. Perhaps someone that's purchased the live feed this season could weigh in on this.

You'll hear those that have had problems trash their product, but overall I think it's a pretty solid deal. As long as you've got a decent internet connection and computer, there should be minimal issues. I think I had problems with lag or a frozen stream during a race only a few times all season last year. Could there be improvements? Sure, but for ~$5 Outlaw race nights there's not much to complain about.

They are still using Turn 2 "cloud type" servers for distribution this year and that has indeed cut down on a LOT of the buffering issues of the past. They've also partnered with DirtOnDirt's production crew and will be using them for several/select WoO Sprint series races this season as well as the late models. The DOD crew did the Late Model and Big Block portion of Volusia and the coverage was remarkable with four manned cameras, instant replays, with lineups/graphics and it was the best streaming show I've ever seen online and was damn near like coverage you'd see on TV.

LK - Easiest way to describe it:

NASCAR on a 1/2 Mile: Go fast & turn Left at the end of the straight-a-way

Sprint Cars on a 1/2 Mile: Go faster yet & turn Right at the end of the straight-a-way.. lol

When looking at the World of Outlaws schedule page that almost all of the races show the Dirtvision logo for broadcasting of the race. I am also curious if this means just audio or if this means video. If it means video, then there are going to be 50+ races shown. But, I want to know before i order how many races are going to be shown.

DV offers free online audio for all WoO Sprint series races. DV Cybercasts are the PPV video shows and that schedule has yet to be determined (it should be out soon) but it's a HUGE bargain compared to buying the individual shows. The schedule will be very similar to last year - don't recall exactly how many they did last year but among them were Vegas (coming up this Weds & Thurs), Chico (I think), Lernerville, Williams Grove (seems like a couple from there) and prelim nights of the Charlotte World Finals.
