West Burlington racer is finalist for $50,000 top prize in Champion Spark Plugs “Search For A Champion” Contest

WEST BURLINGTON. IA – A West Burlington sprint car racer has made it to the finals of the Champion Spark Plugs “Search For A Champion” $125,000 contest. Federal-Mogul Corporation sponsors the contest in which over 160 videos were submitted from all over the country.

A ten year sprint car racer, Steward received honorable mention last year and thanks to the online votes has been chosen as a top 15 finalists and was awarded a $5000 prize. Now he would like your help to win the top prize.

Steward, with the help of Tony Anderson submitted a 2 minute video of his 2012 championship season. The 2013 34 Raceway Track Champion, in hopes of getting the top prize of $50,000, is asking for your votes.

Steward submitted a video last year where it received honorable mention in the same contest. This year Steward and Anderson put a lot more time in on the project and added a song by local recording artist Brandon Gibb. The video ties in the Burlington Champion manufacturing plant as well as locations of other sponsors and a brief history of his racing career.

Voting for the first round closed Feb. 3 where the top 15 videos were selected to be finalist. Voting in the finalist round is now underway and Steward is hoping local race fans will choose his video for the $50,000 prize and draw attention to southeast Iowa, 34 Raceway and Steward Racing . The winner will be selected on April 2.

Fans may vote once per day at www. alwaysachampion.com/contest/entry/1372272.
