You must've missed the last 20 years or so of Martinsville or Bristol. Cheap shots and spin 'em to win 'em is the story of those races. Falk said himself that he was trying to jam up Larson by riding the brakes and that when Larson bumped him he started spinning his own wheels and couldnt recover which is why HE got loose to the point that Larson drove through him. What exactly would the proper remedy have been if Larson had bumped him only the first time and then what stopped and chose to not to drive for the win?

The air head announcers who vilified Larson kept saying that the first bump was OK but to drive hard for the win isnt? What the hell kind of illogic is that? I say if bumping and banging is bad then its always bad there should be no grey area in that situation either its ok or its not. Personally I think the hillbillys were just bent out of shape that this talented open wheel kid from northern California keeps showing them up.

I dont understand what the controversy is all about in this deal. I've seen far worst lack of respect for life and limb in open wheel ranks over the years where guys literally were physically hurt bad. Larson's reputation in the real racing ranks (open wheel dirt) is one of a guy you can trust to race you clean. Thats all that matters.

YEA,, HENRY ,,,,,,,I agree with you,,,,,, its just what pisses me off ,, that Larson says I am it for the win,,,and every one thinks that what he did was alright,,,, why not take the leader out a few laps earlier, instead of comin down for the win,,,,, but HENRY you are right,,,, thats why I do not go to NASCAR races,,,,, NASCAR is known for there safety,,,,, and they allow shit like this, Thats why I stay around open wheel,,,,, THE QUALITY of racing,,,,,, ZZ

I've kinda already gone on a bit too much about this already, but I do want to point out that I agree with you on one thing...that this type of "spin to win" approach will NOT work in open wheel cars on dirt. I kinda assumed that was clear in my rant above. I mentioned that if this were on the superspeedway, it would be different from a safety perspective. Same is true with open wheel...it is an entirely different situation with an entirely different requirement for rules enforcement....in my humble opinion.

Anyway, as far as the URA...yes, I am part of the newly formed Team, and honored to be involved. But I am a race car fan first and foremost. The URA Team embraces that...we're all just a group of sprint car and midget fans. But I am confident that rough driving in sprints & midgets will NOT be tolerated by our officials. We've got a great group of people that are racers themselves have been assigned those duties for that exact reason. My job is to sit back and call it like I see it...then share it again afterwords with you guys!

Thanks for sharing your opinion...I don't hold that against anyone!

BUSHEY,,,,,, THIS WAS NOT ABOUT YOUR OPEN WHEEL CLASSES,,,,,this was towards the stock car shows that may be run at the orange show or at the 66 track,,,,,,,, To me there is no doubt this would happen in open wheel,,,,,,,, sorry that you took it wrong,,,,, I know you guys will do good,,,,, After it is open wheel,,,,,ZZ
