Special Events Part of Exciting Year for Elk City Speedway!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Midwest City, Oklahoma – February 5, 2013 - Track operators Kenneth and Calvin Bonner have relinquished their promoting duties at Elk City Speedway in Elk City, Oklahoma to concentrate on racing but that doesn't mean daily operations will suffer as Texas racer Paul Vines has taken over the promotion duties of the Saturday night western Oklahoma dirt track.

And if the 2013 race schedule is any indication, race fans and drivers alike are staring at one of the most entertaining and diverse year of racing in the city's history.

USMTS type Modifieds, IMCA type southern sport modifieds, factory stocks, and bombers will be the weekly divisions at Elk City Speedway. Those divisions will see plenty of racing action as twenty nights of weekly point racing will take place starting in March until the point season concludes in October. A car show and open practice at the speedway is set for March 9th with the first race of the new season set for Saturday night, March 16th.

Special events dot the schedule and some great events there will be with two new series making their inaugural appearance at the three-eighths mile clay oval.

The NCRA sport modifieds will make their annual appearance at the speedway on a special Friday night, May 31st while that series regular modified division will make their second consecutive appearance on Friday night, August 16th.

Modified fans from across Texas, Kansas, New Mexico and, of course Oklahoma need to have your calendars marked for Sunday night, June 23rd as the popular United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) will make their first ever appearance to Elk City.

Another first of any kind for the western Oklahoma town will occur on Saturday night, July 6th as the Sprint Series of Texas (SST) will invade western Oklahoma for the first time in their history.

The 2013 race season at Elk City Speedway is scheduled to come to a conclusion on Friday and Saturday night, October 18-19 for the annual "Winter Nationals."

New special events, more track improvements, concentration on promotion and an emphasis on a fan-friendly atmosphere is what is in store for the Speedway for the 2013 race season and with that effort, be sure to make the track your weekly entertainment destination.

For a complete set of rules, the 2013 race schedule, payout information for all divisions and more for Elk City Speedway, check out their revamped website http://www.elkcitydirttrack.com. For track advertising and other information, contact promoter Paul Vines (580) 799-7572.
