Lonnie Wheatley, PEORIA, Ariz. (January 26, 2013) –
With inclement weather washing out the initial two rounds of Canyon
Speedway Park’s Winter Challenge featuring the wingless Sprint Cars of
the USAC Southwest and West Coast Sprint Car Series, a doubleheader is
now in place to finish off the scheduled six-race event next Saturday.
With rain washing out the initial two rounds of competition atop the
1/3-mile clay oval, a makeup event has been scheduled for next Saturday,
February 2, at noon with gates opening at 10:00 a.m. The scheduled
$5,000-to-win Winter Challenge finale will follow later that evening
with racing now at 7:00 p.m.
The Winter Challenge with USAC Southwest versus West Coast Sprint
Cars along with IMCA Modifieds, Mini Sprints and Pure Stocks will
continue on Sunday at 5:00 p.m., with ensuing rounds on Wednesday and
Friday before culminating with Saturday’s doubleheader. Read More...
