According to GasBuddy.com’s 2013 forecast, drivers in major cities including Atlanta, Boston, Dallas and Los Angeles should expect prices to creep above $4.00 a gallon during the year. The pain at the pump could be worse for West Coast residents with expectations of the price to surpass $4.50 a gallon in Los Angeles and San Francisco at some point.

Drivers should expect volatility in gas prices all year, especially from April 1 through May 15 when refineries typically face problems when starting to produce cleaner-burning summer gas. Prices tend to also fluctuate August through mid September for hurricane season and October 15 through November 15 when winter gas is coming into retailers.

I know it is going to affect some of the "weekend outings" my wife and I have planned!

2012 gas prices, most expensive year on record. During that same period, Obama blocked the Keystone Pipeline project.

To make matters worse, Obama's EPA recently unleashed a fresh batch of crippling regulations.

I'm anxious to here from those of you who voted for the "Anointed One", when you open your paycheck tomorrow. Social Security taxes are going up on all Americans, yes even the middle class. I thought that wasn't supposed to happen?

I warned of the tax increase several months ago, but apparently several of you voted for the Ideologue anyway. Oh I forgot, birth control was more important! Such nonsense...

Btw, Iran now has an advanced anti aircraft missle defense system (imported from Russia) and North Korea now has a missle platform capable of reaching the Continental United States. These advancements were all made possible via Obama's "snuggle with the terrorists" policy.

I suppose Obama thinks he can keep China's new, evergrowing Navy in check with one of those drones...

Not one economic indicator has improved under Obama. He's destroying this country...

Tax rates didn't increase for anyone earning under $400,000

What increased was Social Security %. It was 13% total 2 years ago and CONGRESS passed a bill to allow for a 2-year Social Security "holiday" and reduced the portion that the employee pays from 6.5% to 4.5% and put an expiration date of December 31, 2012 on the Bill.

CONGRESS had no intention of EVER re-upping this Bill as the only thing it accomplished (other than an extra $18 per week for those earning $45,000 per year) was to further reduce the Social Security Fund and force the Government to borrow more $$.

The people destroying our country are ALL POLITICIANS, it makes no difference if they are Republicans, Democrats or Independents, they all have the same problem, they don't know how to budget and spend less than what is taken in, and they all only have ONE AGENDA--TO GET RE-ELECTED so they don't have to join the working world.

It won't effect my sprint car travels but it is a major reason why I'm selling our boat that has 2 370 hp engines and burns a gallon a mile!

Amen, brother! And don't forget, the main purpose of the pipeline was to facilitate shipping Canadian Tar Sand oil to the gulf coast, so it could be refined and exported elsewhere. Would not have made a penny difference in what we pay at the pump. Meanwhile, the oil companies keep forcing unknown chemicals deep underground with potentially disastrous impact to our water supply. Numerous wells in PA have become unusable and even explosive with methane gas after fracking. And of course, we keep adding to various environmental degradation and global warming problems in numerous ways. I don't believe in going back to the past, but I do think we should do everything we can to minimize our impact on the Earth. I'd really like my grandchildren and great grandchildren to enjoy some of it's natural beauty. I feel just fine if everyone keeps driving to the races, I just think they should do it in the most fuel efficient vehicle that meets their needs.

Its amazing how year after year we have to hear the same excuses from the most profitable businesses in the world, The Oil Industry. Oops a bird got into the refinery in Louisiana so we need to raise all gas prices $0.50/gal, Oh its hurricane season and we didn't realize it was going to happen again this year so we need to raise the price $1/gal.The whole time they have months worth of back stock sitting there and theres no actual shortage, but within the day the prices go up for the end user. The stations raise the price while they still have the product in the tank that they paid X amount for. Let em build their Keystone pipeline Hannity, they'll just find something else to blame the price on, I don't remember historically low gas prices during the Bush years and he would of let em put a rig in front of the Washington Monument.

Vande said it right, their all Politicians. Hannity never mentioned that they just re-signed in the majority of the Bush Tax cuts indefinately and thats something that George W himself couldn't even get passed, but rather than saying your happy about that you'll jump over to the fact that $15 more dollars a week is going to come out of your paycheck to make it so just maybe by the time I retire Social Security may still be there. But why, we live in a country where its all about me and if it doesn't help me and namely what I get, Fu** the rest.

Are you suggesting that Obama's policies are helping reduce gas prices or that the recent tax increase will gaurantee a Social Security payout when you retire?

As far as all politicians, I agree that there are Republicans who have lost there way, along with a majority of the Democrats.

With that said, the Democrats have taken their radical agenda to a whole new level. For example, they support tax payer funded abortions, yet at the same time, they want to take away our guns in order to protect the little ones. uh huh...

You should ask Nancy Lanza how the protection of her gun rights worked out for her and the "little ones"

Thank you though for making my point of a Me Me Me society.

They've ALL lost their way (repubs and dems). How fiscally responsible is it of repubs to say we shouldn't raise the debt ceiling and DEFAULT on our loans?? It's not, so they aren't following their own ideaology either.

The whole bunch of them (Repubs, Dems, Independents, Tea Party) are are UNWILLING to realize that what made Washington work for a while was comprimise. NONE of these guys comprimise on ANYTHING for fear that the $$$ people in big business won't support them anymore by funding their PAC's.

No one's policies will EVER help reduce gas prices, Oil is traded on the Open Market, speculators can drive up or drive down the price of oil as they so please, the government can't control oil (and consequently gasoline) prices unless they pull it off the open market and make it a government controlled commodity (I for one NEVER want that to happen no matter which party is in office).

As far as the pipeline goes, ask Canada what the plan is for that pipeline. They've stated the plan is to move the oil to the coast, put it in tankers and ship it to China. By building the pipeline we'd get a few thousand TEMPORARY jobs until the pipeline is completed, but we get a potential DISASTER if anything would ever happen to the Pipeline.

Why aren't we complaining about the fact that we won't build REFINERIES where the oil is (North Dakota, Canada)? oh, I know why the price of gas would actually go down in the midwest because we'd have WAYYYY more supply than demand and the gas companies can't have that...

Build the pipeline. We need more supply and a stronger dollar and the price will go down.

Our weak dollar is why the oil companies are exporting the oil out of this country.

Obama and his policies are killing us.

Please someone show me where fracking has caused any problems. It is a safe practice and it has done nothing but supply our country with oil and well paying jobs.

The senate has yet to pass a budget in over 4 years. The house is not the problem. This country needs term limits. Until then the hard issues will always be kicked down the road.

Does anybody wonder why the Obama administration has not answered yet on the Benghazi fiasco? 4 Americans dead and not a work from Hillary. What a joke.

Yes, I'm down to 4-6 shows this coming summer from mid 40's a couple seasons ago. This pattern of gas peaking every summer is here to stay and that was a large part of my decision to cut back. I'm not much of a spectator and don't care to sit in the stands anymore. If I'm not taking photos and writing I don't have much interest in going to the races every weekend. I'll drag the camera out for a half dozen of my favorite shows on my own dime but I'm not going to follow them two or three nights a week all summer for the publications like I used to.

Speedkills,

The Me Me Me society or should I say the Gimme, Gimme, Gimme society, voted exclusively for Obama.

Donimus,

You make a good point about the weak dollar. For those of who don't understand, look up "quantitative easing"...

Vande77,

There is plenty of income to service the interest on our debt, even if congress fails to raise the debt ceiling. That's a scare tactic that the Democrats like to use. With that said, failure to raise the debt ceiling would mean that the government would be forced to throttle back. Obama has out spent the pervious 43 presidents combined. Perhaps it's time to cut up the cards!
