Itchin’ To Get Back! Cryderman, Doar Headline Late Models Entries to Steele County Next Monday

With a week yet to go, the entries have started to pile up for next week’s return of the Late Models to the Steele County Speedway. The Wissota Tri-Star Challenge Series will visit the famous half-mile in Owatonna, Minnesota, next Monday night, July 9, to cap off a two-day doubleheader at the Speedway.

Among the confirmed entries for the event are defending series champion Joel Cryderman, Wisconsin’s John Kaanta, Jeff Provinzino, Adam Hensel, Jake Redetzke, Kerry Hanson, Chad Chenoweth and perennial front runner Pat Doar. A large field of Wissota Late Models is expected to compete on the same card as the Jackpot Junction Sprint Tour and Wissota Midwest Mods.

The previous night, Sunday, July 8, the Steele County Speedway hosts Open 360 Sprint Cars, Wissota Midwest Mods and Steele County Stock Cars.

On Sunday night, hot laps will start at 5:30 with racing to follow at 6PM while Monday night’s card is moved back one hour with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7PM.

For those traveling into town for the two-day show, camping is available on the grounds for just $20 a night and can be reserved by sending an e-mail to [email protected] or by calling the track phone at 507-363-9124.

Steele County Free Fair Race with USMTS Modifieds, Wissota Midwest Mods and
another class to be announced
Monday, September 3:
USMTS Modifieds, IMCA Sprint Cars, Wissota Midwest Mods
Saturday September 15:
ASCS Sprint Cars, Non-sanctioned B-Mods, Steele County Stock Cars
Sunday, September 16:
Rain date for Saturday's show

As an added bonus for tonights show, The IMCA "Old Timers" vintage sprint cars will be a part of our show.

Rain washed out tonights races at Steele County as hot laps were just beginning,, Because of the rain out tonight, we have decided that the Steele County Stock cars will now be joining the Wissota Midwest Mods, IMCA Sprint Cars, IMCA "Old Timers" and the headlining Tri-Star Challenge Series Late Models tomorrow night July 9th at the speedway, All for the same $15.00 ticket price.

Hey Greg,,,   I thought that I saw you there last night,,,,   it was the South Dakota license plates that gave you away!!! LOL,  You were driving past the grandstand ticket booth when I saw you.....

How many sprints were there Sunday night for the open race and how many are expected tonight for IMCA?

Hi Todd,,, There were 15 that were signed in last night and I know of three others that told me that they were going to come but with the weather they decided to stay put,, (good call on their part!, LOL),, We are expecting about 18-20 IMCA cars tonight...

Track looks good,, we got it dried out this morning after all the rain and are now watering it,,, There are a bunch of late models already lined up at the gate,,,,, Man am I impressed with these guys!!!!

Gotta run,,, Let's all have some RACIN tonight!!!!
