Mateer, David D. 58

Greensburg

David D. Mateer, 58, of Greensburg, passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at his home. He was born Oct. 18, 1954, in Pittsburgh, the son of Charlotte B. Mateer-Obert, of Pittsburgh, and the late Donald D. Mateer. David graduated from University of Pittsburgh with a master's degree in chemical engineering. He was the general manager for Race Tires of America. He was an avid supporter of both the Westmoreland County Food Bank and the Stage Right with the Westmoreland Cultural Trust. He is survived by his mother, Charlotte B. Mateer-Obert and her husband, Paul; his wife, Stacey R. Baumeister Mateer; his children, Katherine Mateer-Weber and her husband, Scott, Rebecca Snelson and her husband, Ryan, and Daniel Mateer and his fiancee, Gina; and stepson, Devin Armel; granddaughter, Alice Faye; grandson, Luke Dennis; and his siblings, Christine S. Dowhan-Bailey and her husband, Gary, Donald D. Mateer III, and Charlotte Stephenson and her husband, David; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Judy Baumeister. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME (an authorized Remembrance provider), 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church, 300 S. Main St., Greensburg, with the Rev. Audrey Bell and Rev. Martin Ankrum officiating. Everyone please go directly to the church. Private interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Westmoreland County Food Bank, 100 Devonshire Drive, Delmont, PA 15626, or The Westmoreland Cultural Trust (Stage Right), 102 N. Main St., Greensburg, PA 15601. Terence L. Graft, Funeral Director, is entrusted with the arrangements.
