Listened to Winged Nation Today, Schatz gave some honest opinions about Goodyear and the WRG (he basically said Goodyear wasn't allowed to fix the tires by the WRG CMO (chief marketing officer) and he expects the Hoosiers to be the same exact tire that the Goodyear was.
I'm not a huge fan of Schatz, but he's never trying to be PC about it.
Very good listen, great job Kendra a Steve.
Awesome to hear that Dan Motter is coming back as a car owner with the WoO (I don't think those words have ever been uttered before, a car owner RETURNING to the WoO, for years and years owners have come and then gone and never reappeared again).

Makes you wonder what the reasoning behind not changing the tires would be. Too much extra cost? Too many tires already produced and in the warehouse? I would be interested to know the whole story behind it.

There sure use to be a difference between Goodyear & Hoosier. Wonder how they became the same tire? Obama must be makin the tire rules. Could it be that 47% of the racers will be entitled to free tires? WOO could have a whole new meaning.

He was saying that, in his opinion, Hoosier will be asked to make the same compound that Goodyear did.

Sure am glad the government isn't involved in sprint car racing. They would probably make you run the same brand of tire on all four corners. (What? You have to!) Well at least the World of Outlaws doesn't have affirmative action. (What? Provisionals!) Well if the government were involved you couldn't "run what you brung.(What? You can't!)

A good forensic chemist, which I'm sure both tire companies employ can tell you exactly whats in the Goodyear and The Hoosiers so to these people they can duplicate anything, they do it all the time with passenger car tires thus they will do the same with the humpers.

I feel that some people are not understanding the difference between a compound and a carcass. I believe that they are asking Hoosier to come up with a different carcass, that is similar to the recent Goodyears. They are trying to unhook the cars by taking away a tires ability to flex, stretch, roll, etc. Nonetheless, it will be nice to NOT have to dis-mount, and mount all of your left rear wheels and tires all the time....

WInged Nation came into my computer with a one second delay echo and was unlistenable. Hope the archives don't. Did anyone else experience that?

I have before. Log out go back in it should be fine. What is happening is it loaded twice and usually happens when you rewind to hear something you missed. The player restarts itself over the first player.

Hoosier has tested tires for the past few months for Knoxville, Ohio and Central PA. They are a stiff side wall and no growth tire like the Goodyear. Testing went well in Central PA and was made the tire for all these areas before the WRG decided to go to Hoosier, they more or less did not have a choice to go with Hoosier
