JULY 8th RACE HAS ALL THE NECESSARY INGREDIENTS

June 29, 2007 - Haubstadt, IN. The finish line at Tri-state Speedway on July 8th will become a busy place following the sprint car feature. The very best drivers in the Midwest will be seeking this one destination. The ultimate challenge will be to arrive there first. Those competing will be assembled for a race that will only happen once this year. The Midwest Sprint Car Series and the King of Indiana Sprints Series will not only cross paths but race together in what promises to be a mid season All Star event.
This season Tri-State Speedway will host this final race for the KISS series. The 9 race-9 track series will end on the high banks at Haubstadt that Sunday night. KISS Series Officials will crown the 2007 champion following the feature race. The feature laurels will be presented first and soon thereafter the overall 2007 series champion will be announced. It could be the same driver but all that is yet to be determined.
The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series will be racing also. It will be the sixth of thirteen races scheduled for the group so far this season. The feature pays $2500 to win and $250 to start. Competing MSCS drivers will receive like co-sanction MSCS points for their support of the combined show and the series. This allows participation without adversely affecting the continuing MSCS point chase. Only the no-shows would stand to lose ground in the MSCS points chase. The MSCS Season Championship race will not take place until the tour arrives at Lawrenceburg Speedway on October 6th.
Some drivers have a double stake in the race. They will receive both KISS and MSCS points. Seven of the top ten KISS drivers hold MSCS licenses. Indianapolis driver Shane Hollingsworth is currently
in the top ten in points for both. The two groups have enjoyed a co-existence without a single conflict in race dates this season. KISS is actually a series of special races at Indiana tracks. MSCS currently competes in four states and was created as a touring group to stretch the horizon of Sprint Car racing. Both organizations were formed in 2001.
Kyle Cummins continues to lead the MSCS Points. Jon Stanbrough has collected the most KISS points thus far this season. Stanbrough will remain the KISS points leader going into this final race at Tri-State with the KISS race at Terre Haute cancelled for June 30th. Jon Stanbrough won the first 4 KISS features of the season and the last two MSCS features to be held. One of those was the 50th Anniversary Race at Tri-State Speedway. So with prior KISS, MSCS, and Tri-State Speedway victories he has to be a strong favorite among the drivers expected to compete.
