I was set to hit the show and would certainly bust out a fans report, but my burrow took ill.

Plymouth tonight is a definite go.

I'm not to fired up about running 3 other classes though. The late models would have been enough for me but i suppose they are just replacing the 360's tonight with the 410's. Probably trying to keep the crowd in Plymouth by running the other classes so some of the fans don't go to Manitowoc instead.

i agree Tim. i didn't realize that they were having all these classes. am looking forward to the late models however.

i don't understand why people get so fired up to see cars go 50 mph. hell i can see that for free in front of my house.

It will probably take it's toll on the track to with that many cars. The Grand Nationals have around 30 cars and i think the Outlaw Compact's have about the same. I hope they plan on running the IRA feature first. Kind of seems like i am trying to talk myself out of going! Sure is a beautiful day here in Plymouth though.

I believe they get so much for the month, before it is exceeded. It will be back up Sunday. It did the same at the end of May...

Kertcher's car owner (Hartnell) is still home at 3.30 pm so I would guess they are not racing.

I decided not to go, so did i make a mistake? How was the show? I can still hear the cars roaring, sounds like they are in the front yard here.

Adam Miller, Miller 24M, 14.182 [33].

Rick Kelsey makes his 2nd start of 2007.

Alex Bliesner, last years IRA Rookie of the Year makes his 1st IRA start of 2007. Stated he was running 360 events for now and another run with the IRA maybe likely someday.

Adam Miller was having some engine issues since hot laps which carried over during his qualification run. He would scratch of remainder of the night.

Weld Wheels Heat Race (10 Laps) Top-4 transfer directly to the A Feature.
1. Donny Goeden [2]; 2. Kim Mock [3]; 3. Billy Warren [4]; 4. Todd King [6]; 5. Tim VanDerVere [7]; 6. Keith Fellner [8]. DNF-Joe Symoens [1]; DNF-John Haeni [5]. DNS-Adam Miller.

Initial start and Goeden with a huge wheel stand down the front stretch and the lead out of turn 2 until King slides off the banking above turns 1-2 for a complete restart. Goeden would again, lead out of turn 2 over Symoens and Mock as Haeni would grab 4th out of turn 4 from Warren. About Lap-5, the Top-4 were safe in transfers until Symoens slides off the banking above turn 4 and loses position getting back under control and gets clipped by a wheel from Haeni down the front stretch. Symoens rolls over. He was Ok. Haeni into the work area for not very long and is pushed to the Hauler. King would benefit and back into a transfer position as Goeden controlled the restart and the remaining laps. Fellner, already in the back would get loose above turns 3-4 during the checkers.

MPD Race Products Heat
1. Kurt Davis [4]; 2. Dave Uttech [2]; 3. Brian Kristan [5]; 4. Scotty Neitzel [6]; 5. Scott Uttech [3]; 6. Andy Hunt [1]; 7. Andy Klumb [8]; DNF-David O’Neal [7].

Initial start was nixed after Klumb busts a 360 spin above the banking above turns 1-2. Restart: Uttech leads out of turn 2 as Davis shows young Klumb how to bust a 720 above the turns 1-2 banking. Davis is given back his position as the yellow was already out for a bad start or something on the front stretch (?). Restart: Uttech led out of turn 2 as a mob scene broke out behind him for 2nd through 5th with Hunt getting punted to a stall above the banking. Hunt would tag the tail and these guys made a green flag lap as Uttech lead Davis and Kristan across Lap-1. Davis would take the lead about mid-way through out of turn 2 as O’Neal spun off the banking between turns 3-4 and safely ducked pit side. Neitzel grabbed 4th late.

Unofficial results....

Lane Automotive Heat Race
1. Jason Johnson [2]; 2. Steve Meyer [5]; 3. Travis Whitney [3]; 4. Mike Reinke [6]; 5. Ryan Irwin [7]; 6. Wayne Modjeski [4]; 7. Russell Borland [1]; 8. Tony Wondra [8].

Top-3 in season points (Reinke, Whitney and Meyer) so one spot is essentially up for grabs in this one. Johnson takes the lead and b the end of the lap, Borland bobbles out of turn 4 and goes from 3rd to like 5th. He would drop a few more spots as the laps wound down when Irwin took him for 5th around Lap-5 and Modjeski a lap later. Wondra was lapped traffic when the checkers fell.

VMAC Racing Heat
1. Scott Biertzer [6]; 2. Bill Wirth [1]; 3. Rick Kelsey [2]; 4. Patrick Haynes [4]; 5. Ty Bartz [3]; DNF-Billy Hafemann [5]; DNF-Alex Bliesner [7]; DNS-Doug Wondra [8].

Where to begin….The Full Moon tonight must have rendered curses or something on this one. Initial start: Bliesner and Hafemann tangle amongst a massed crowd scene down the low line of turn 2 with them both precariously teetering on each other. Hafemann into and back out of the work area. Bliesner was done for the night. Restart: Kelsey leads out of turn 2 on the high side until Wirth dives low through 3-4 for the lead. Lap-1: Hafemann loops it in turns 3-4, but kept it going and no yellow was called for. Wirth held Kelsey at bay as Bartz had just lost 3rd to Biertzer around Lap-4 then Bartz loops it between turns 3-4. Bartz restarts as Hafemann is served his penalty now and he is at the tail. Restart: Hafemann moved nicely using the high side to take back 5th by time another red is out after Wondra is shoved into the front stretch wall and performs a slow motion roll-over. Wondra was Ok. Lap-6: Yellow flag is out again, after Bartz and Haynes tangle in turn 4 with Hafemann stalling out in turns 1-2. Biertzer had just taken 2nd. Hafemann is now done in this heat. Ok, 5 cars are now running for 4 spots with 4 laps to go. As the checkers fall, Biertzer had taken the lead at the line with Wirth and Kelsey crossing safely. Bartz and Haynes, however, touch each other or one hit the other, however you saw it, but the end result was Bartz is sent careering into the turn 1 wall at a very high speed nose first. Scary crash, but about as fast as the car stopped, Bartz was already out of the car. Midwest Safety “Bouncer” restrained Bartz to keep him from asking Haynes for an autograph, which Haynes now is Bartz’s favorite driver. As Bartz walks down the front stretch, not sure if it was adrenaline rush from the raucous crowd, but Bartz takes off in a full sprint towards the pit entrance with helmet and neck roll in hand, presumably looking for a Haynes T-shirt. Crew members again, restrain a visibly upset Bartz and Pres. Sinclair moves quickly to meet with all involved to get this under control. Whew.

Behling B Feature (15 Laps) Top-6 will transfer.
1. Scott Uttech [4]; 2. John Haeni [1]; 3. Wayne Modjeski [3]; 4. Tim VanDerVere [7]; 5. Andy Hunt [5]; 6. Tony Wondra [12]; 7. Keith Fellner [10]; 8. David O’Neal [8]; DNF-Ryan Irwin [9]; DNF-Andy Klumb [11]; DNF-Doug Wondra [13]; DNF-Billy Hafemann [2]; DNF-Russell Borland [6]; DNS- Adam Miller, DNS-Alex Bliesner,
DNS-Ty Bartz.

Haeni grabbed the initial lead from Hafemann until Hafemann spins and stalls above the banking in turns 3-4. Was good for Fellner as he had lost ground when he skidded above the banking through turn 1-2 on that start. Hafemann was able to tag the tail and Borland ducks pit side. Restart: Haeni leads Uttech and Modjeski around and the Yellow is out on Lap-2 after Hafemann finally ends his frustrating night with another spin above turns 3-4. D. Wondra calls it a night as well. Hunt was holding 6th with Irwin making attempts to take it using the high line, but loses ground out of turns 3-4. Lap-4: Uttech takes the lead as Modjeski moved into 2nd. Lap-7: Yellow flag for Klumb, he spins-stalls turns 3-4 in front of Uttech. Close call. Klumb is done for the night. Uttech leads the restart over Modjeski, Haeni, VanDerVere, Hunt, O’Neal, T. Wondra as Irwin is looking for a transfer running that high line as opposed to the top-6 running the bottom. Lap-8: T. Wondra makes a play for 6th, but not close enough to take it as Irwin pulls pit side. Haeni would take 2nd on the last lap as something happened to O’Neal out of turn 2 sending him racing through the edge of the infield and out of a transfer spot.

A Feature (30 Laps)
1. Donny Goeden [6]; 2. Mike Reinke [2]; 3. Billy Warren [8]; 4. Scotty Neitzel [3]; 5. Scott Biertzer [1]; 6. Travis Whitney [16]; 7. Todd King [4]; 8. Steve Meyer [9]; 9. Kurt Davis [7]; 10. Jason Johnson [5]; 11. Scott Uttech [15]; 12. John Haeni [11]; 13. Brian Kristan [10]; 14. Wayne Modjeski [12]; 15. Dave Uttech [17]; 16. Andy Hunt [19]; 17. Tony Wondra [22];18. Tim VanDerVere [21]; 19. Kim Mock [14]; 20. Rick Kelsey [18]; DNF-21. Bill Wirth [20]; DNF-22. Patrick Haynes [13].
Alternate: Keith Fellner.
Lap leaders: Scott Biertzer 1-10, Donny Goeden 11-30.

Start: Reinke runs where is always does as Biertzer runs low for the lead side-by-side around for the first couple of laps. Biertzer finally gets the advantage as Goeden has moved into 3rd. Lap-3: Davis loses a ton of ground after he rides the banking above turns 3-4. Lap-7: Traffic, Biertzer leads the Top-10 of Reinke, Goeden, Neitzel, Johnson, King, Warren, Haeni, Kristan and Meyer. By Lap-10, In heavy traffic, Goeden had already gotten by Reinke for 2nd and will take the lead from Biertzer. Lap-16: Yellow flag after Kristan loses his Top-10, to a spin and stall above turns 1-2. Running order: Goeden would restart with the safety of (Hunt) (Wirth) and (Wondra) then Biertzer, Reinke (Kelsey) Neitzel, King, Warren, Johnson, Haeni, Meyer, Davis, in the Top-10. Whitney, was now 11th. Haynes 12th….D. Uttech was recipient of the Lucky Pass and would tag the tail of the 22 cars still running. On that restart, looked as though someone tagged Haeni and sent him spinning to a stall down low in turns 3-4 he was able to restart as Haynes is the first to duck pit side. Lap-18: Reinke takes 2nd from Biertzer out of turn 4. Lap-23: Yellow flag for Wirth, slid off the banking off turn 2 and he is done. The Top-5 of Goeden, Reinke, Biertzer, Neitzel and Warren would be clear of lapped traffic on this restart as Hunt as given the Lucky Pass. Whitney has raced nicely into the 7th spot by this juncture. Neitzel would take 3rd out of turn 4 using the low line on the restart. Warren would take 4th from Biertzer very soon after. Lap-26: Whitney moves into 6th. Lap-28: Yellow flag as Mock and VanDerVere meet to discuss racing procedures on the low line of turns 3-4. Both are able to restart. A Green-White-Checker finish would once again, go to Goeden as Warren makes his move into 3rd using the low line entering turn 3 for his 1st podium for the season so far, way to go Billy! Excellent run as well from Whitney from deep in the pack.

Goeden will again lead the IRA in season A Feature wins with 5 as we head into the King Of Wisconsin race at Wilmot on Saturday, June 7th. The defending King of Wisconsin is current point leader Mike Reinke. Only Reinke winning at Kankakee do we have a winner other than Goeden or Whitney in the past month.

Unofficial results.

How did the track hold up? Sounds like the incident with Bartz was a wild scene!
