CALIFORNIA LIGHTNING SPRINT CARS TO RUN TWO FULL SHOWS AT OVAL NATIONALS!
(Placentia, CA, September 20, 2012) In a change to the schedule, the California
Lightning Sprint Car Series will run two-full shows at the 17th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway on November 2nd and 3rd. The Amsoil USAC National & CRA Sprint Cars and The PAS Senior Sprints will also be in action at the biggest open wheel extravaganza west of the Mississippi.
Like last year, the CLS was originally slated to run only heats on Friday with the main event on Saturday. However, last Saturday promoter Don Kazarian extended an invitation to Dan Hillberg for the CLS to run two full shows.
"I spoke to Don on Saturday and he is going to allow the Lightning Sprints to run full programs on Friday and Saturday night at the Oval Nationals," Hillberg said. "I know several BCRA and Colorado racers that might make the trip if they know that we are running two full programs."
Each night will carry a full, separate purse and separate entry fees for the CLS. Anyone with

This Saturday night, the CLS will be making its only appearance of the 2012 campaign at the Ventura Raceway. New point leader Bobby Michnowicz of Lomita, who also leads the series
with four main event wins this year, heads the list of entries for Saturday. Title contenders Dan Hillberg of Placentia, Guy Maresch of Anaheim Hills and Steve Limon of Corona are all expected to be on hand. The VRA Sprint Cars, Mod Lights, Junior Midgets and Mini Dwarfs will also be in action. Spectator gates will open at 3:00 PM and the first race will be at 5:30.
