Taken from another website from the track announcer at KSP. Find it interesting Ramey has done this on the heels of the ASCS2/Cowtown incident in which he defended ASCS. Could ASCS be competing at KSP?
OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: If it had wheels, an engine and would go fast, it was a interest to Kennedale Speedway Park track promoter Richard Snider. Richard Snider is a long time figure in motorsports. He was once known as a drag racer and a auto parts store owner in River Oaks Texas. He once held the ownership of Cowtown Speedway and Boyd Raceway before selling both raceways. After 30 plus years of being close to or directly involved in dirt track racing in north Texas, Richard Snider will be stepping away from a sport that he dedicated much of his life to. KSP track promoter, Richard Snider will be handing the keys over to Kennedale Speedway Park owner Jerry Bransom at the close of the 2012 season that officially ends on October 6th.
The Snider family has stood together as a team for many years. Richard Snider will retire and along with him that will also step away from racing will be his brother Nathan Snider, Richard’s son, Ricky Snider, his daughter Sandy Lyons and her husband Brad Lyons. For the most part, the majority of Kennedale Speedway Parks staff members will remain intact.
It is requested that those of you that have come to know of Richard Snider through the past and present, please make it a point to give your respects to this man that has dedicated and endured so much as a track owner and as a promoter. As you all know, the position he held is not a cake walk as it is filled with highs and lows and loaded with a ton of responsabities. We will be honoring this man and giving our thanks to him on Saturday, October 6th during the 6th Annual KSP Showdown event. This will be the last and final night of racing under his leadership at KSP. So please join us in person as we recognize Richard Snider for his years of service to us all.
The 2013 race season will open up under new promotership that will be guided by long time racer, Kevin Ramey. Much of the raceway procedures, programs and goals will remain the same as it has under the guidance of Richard Snider. The raceway will remain IMCA sanctioned. A strong focus will be placed on sponsorship and marketing programs and a few additions to the season schedule that will please the fans. The facilities will also see a few changes and improvements in 2013. Each with a honest effort to meet the requests of the racers and fans of KSP.
