Powers Claims First Career NCRA Modified Feature Victory!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Belleville, Kansas – September 2, 2012 - After a struggling start to the 2012 race season on the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified tour, Dan Powers looks to have things finally figured out as he claimed his first career series victory as he claimed the big fairgrounds half mile oval at the Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kansas Sunday night.
Powers started on the pole for the fifteen lap event, over came three cautions and a strong night from rookie of the year contender Jon Thompson to claim his first feature victory in his third year with the series.
Thompson held on for second while current series point leader and former champion Marc Hurd came home third. A.J. Brochu finished fourth while Josh Lanterman rounded out the top five.
Heat races for the seventeen car field were won by Brandon Blochlinger and Powers.
The next event for the NCRA modified division will be the final point race for the 2012 race season on "championship" night as the tour will head to 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas on Saturday night, October 6th.
