ASCS Sprints return to I-80 Speedway for Midwest Fall Brawl

The ASCS Sprint Cars will be returning to I-80 Speedway on Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22 for the Midwest Fall Brawl. The races will be the last scheduled events for the ASCS Midwest Region in 2012. Both shows will pay $2,500 to win and $300 to start.

In addition, Hot Rod Paintless Dent Repair of Omaha will be sponsoring a King of the Hill race that pays $500 to win of a $1,050 purse and they will also be sponsoring a $750 Hard Charger Award each night. Searsboro Telephone Co. will be sponsoring a $1,200 Reverse Point Fund for drivers finishing sixth thru 15th in total points with sixth place to receive $60 and 15th receiving $200. Just added the Podium Challenge sponsored by Electrical Systems. The winner of each night's feature will draw a number between two and five and the driver who finishes in that position receives another $300.

The event is generating a lot of interest and most of the area's top sprint car drivers are expected and with the ASCS National Series in an off weekend, many of those drivers should be on hand for the Midwest Fall Brawl as well. I-80 Speedway will pay the Friday $10 pill draw fee to ASCS for all sprint cars that pre-enter by September 17. Call (402)-342-3453 to pre-enter.

Through September 17, I-80 Speedway is offering the fantastic deal of buying tickets in advance, for both days for just $15. Yes, that's two great shows for only $15. But there will only be refunds if both days rain out. If one show gets in and the other is rained out there will be no refunds. Call (402)-342-3453 to purchase advance tickets.

You can also watch the races from the comfort of your RV. For just $200, 20 backstretch parking spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can set in your own lawn chair, drinking your favorite beverage, eating your favorite snacks and watch the races. Each parking spot comes with two pit passes for both days. Call (402)-342-3453 and reserve your spot today.

The ASCS Midwest Region point battle has taken a turn as the result of a serious accident on August 5 involving current point leader Stu Snyder. Snyder sustained serious injuries in a non-wing sprint car show at US36 Speedway in Cameron, Missouri and will probably be out of action for some time. The ASCS Midwest point's race will now likely become a battle between Jordon Boston of Lincoln and Jack Dover of Springfield, Nebraska. Snyder currently leads Boston by 54 points with Dover 48 markers behind Boston.

ASCS winners this year at I-80 Speedway include; Robby Wolfgang and Brian Brown at the Spring Meltdown, Danny Lasoski at the ASCS National Show and Dustin Selvage at the Midwest Trifecta.

On Friday night unsanctioned B Mods will be joining the action paying $700 to win. That race is part of the I-80/Adams County Top Ten Challenge for B Mods with a $1,100 point fund for the top ten in total points for B Mods from the September 21 race at I-80 Speedway and the September 22 Adams County "Tradition" race. On Saturday, September 22 unsanctioned Grand Nationals will be racing with the winner receiving $700.

Grandstand Admission is $15 each day for Adults, $5 for Juniors (6-12) with 5 and under free. Camping is available for the weekend for just $10. There will be no hook-ups and showers are available at Cubby's across the street. Camping will ONLY be allowed in the campgrounds.

I-80 Speedway is located just north of Interstate 80 Exit #420, halfway between Omaha and Lincoln. For more information, visit www.i-80speedway.com or call (402)-342-3453.
