FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – August 13, 2012 - Uncharted territory await the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified division as they will be competing at two new venues in two states this coming Friday and Saturday night. Both events will pay $1000 to win.

First stop is Western Oklahoma and Elk City Speedway in Elk City Friday night. From there it will be the tour's first ever appearance in the state of Texas and on to the beautiful facility of Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo on Saturday night.

The now dissolved NCRA modified south tour visited Elk City four times during its brief two years and four different winners visited victory lane. Among them were: Gene Weaver (Amarillo), Travis Penrod (Davis, Oklahoma), Dusty Robbins (Enid, Oklahoma) and Chad Davis (Tulsa, Oklahoma).

That tour also made an appearance at Route 66 Motor Speedway with Thomas Tillison, Jr. (Wellston, Oklahoma) taking the victory.

Former series champion Marc Hurd of Wichita currently sits atop the point standings and holds a seventy point lead over defending series champion Tyler Davis, also of Wichita. Still in the mix and sitting third is Wichita driver Jim Johnson, just 165 points out of the lead, Josh Lanterman and Dan Powers.

Current rookie of the year contenders Dustin Belcher, Jon Thompson and A.J. Brochu are also expected to make the trip. Belcher currently leads the rookie point standings over Nebraska's Thompson by just three points.

Drivers who have also informed their intentions on competing include former NCRA modified south champion Gene Weaver, Logan Cabbell, Chad Austin, Dee and Jeremy Gossett – all from Amarillo. Also expected are Jason Hilliard (Lawton) and Greg Burt (Enid).

Local drivers from both tracks are expected to defend their home turf. They include Elk City regulars Robert, Dusty and Bobby Mayfield, Austin Bonner, Josh Whitson, Chad Bryson, Ricky Roush, Austin Lustfield and Vincent Lucas.

Drivers from Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico are expected to compete at one or both venues.

Elk City Speedway gates will open at 6:00 pm on Friday night with racing slated for an 8:00 pm start time. Track is located off of I-40 at Merritt Rd. (exit 34). Go half mile north then half mile west. Track entrance is located on the South side of the road.

On Saturday night at Route 66 Motor Speedway gates will open at 5:00 pm with a 7:00 pm race start time. The Speedway is located 1 1/2 miles south of Interstate 40 on Lakeside in Amarillo. For more race and ticket information, contact the speedway (806) 383-0375.
