Lets try something a little different and see if everyone has their brains over the nationals experience. What do Randy Smith, Tim St. Arnold and Bronson Maeschen all have in common?
Bonus Question; What is the one thing that Randy Smith has done at Knoxville that nobody else has ever done?

They are from Iowa.
Randy Smith won a bunch of Knoxville Track championships....plus he can play the bass guitar.

You got me on a technicality about them all being from Iowa but I was looking for racing accomplishments. As far as the bonus question, its true he won a bunch of track championships, but so did a bunch of other guys.

I have a question for you...The Smiths (Hank and Randy) were involved in running 2nd at the Nationals...Randy Smith ran 2nd in the National race in the 43 car and Hank owned the famous #5 that Earl Wagner ran 2nd to Opperman in. Has any other father or son team done better at the Nationals?

Steve and Kraig both have won it. Karl Kinser won it a bunch as owner and Mark won as a driver

Those 3, along with Clint Garner have at least one career win in each class of sprints (305, 360 & 410). Tim has only one win in each division.

The first that comes to mind are the Welds, Greg won in 63 driving for his Dad, Taylor "Pappy" Weld and Kenny won in both 64 and 65 driving for his Dad. Then Danny and Donny Schatz in 06,07 and 08. And Mark and Karl Kinser won it 3 times together and Karl has won the Nationals 15 different times amongst 3 drivers.

You got me on Clint. I didn't think he had won in a 410. My mistake. But how about the bonus question? What has Randy accomplished that nobody else has?

I was thinking this was an Iowa based quiz, as in the original question.
I definately remember the Kinsers winning, and the Welds.
What other Iowa father and son racers were there? Any in the Nationals?

The answer to the bonus question is, Randy has won features in both non-wing and winged 410's, 360's and 305's.
