If the directors and managers of Knoxville Raceway do nothing, maintain status quo or tell you "we are doing everything we can" or "we have to be fair to everyone", the drunks-in-the-stands problem will only get worse.
BUYER BEWARE... expect interference from drunks while you "enjoy" The Knoxville Nationals.

The ONLY people they need to answer to are the family that got puked on (if they actually said anything about the incident to Raceway Staff).
They don't owe ANY TYPE OF RESPONSE to any of the rest of us....

The info was passed along to me by a few annonymous users, I copied and pasted the pic from my mobile device. Here is the same pic unedited. Puker is Bruce Hoyes and fighter is Bill Winfrey.
Might I add, in service uniforms too.

well I fired an email off to the Mayor , fully not expecting any response. The following is from his email response. Got to give the guy credit he did not defend anyone.
Mayor Response
I have seen, and heard, what took place at the race. The individuals are not employeed by the city. Even though I do not agree with their behavior I have no control over someone's behavior because they live in Sweet Springs. They do belong to a volunteer fire department. The fire department is a district fire department and do not answer to the city. I do agree that this behavior looks bad on our town. I appologize on behalf of the city.

I did not say Knoxville owed a response to the rest of us. My point was simple... if you buy a ticket to the Knoxville Nationals, expect interference from the drunks.

Well, suppose I might as well add a bit. Been a while but...I am the Dad. Could write pages, but I'll try to keep it short.
Had a feeling as soon as these clowns showed up there would be issues. I would have loved to have dropped "Billy Bad Ass", and accomplish what? "Puker Boy" is still concious not to mention "I'm Fat, Fuck Off", and if memory serves, 3-4 more people in their little group. Also, how to brawl in the stands with people shoulder to shoulder, and not have innocent bystanders suffer some fallout?
I'm 48 yrs old, 12 hrs from home, on the final night of racing. I don't think a fight is going to help, except perhaps a feeling of personal satisfaction.
Echoing the sentiments of many on this thread, I don't begrudge anyone having a few cocktails. We ourselves had our share, AFTER the races, back at our lodging. The gentleman two seats over walked up w/a six-pack Wed. night, and I don't know that he quit until Sat. night/Sun. morning. Good for him, didn't have one problem with him or his party. The thing is, like the ad says, know when to say when. As we were walking back to our car so my wife and daughter could change out of their ruined pants, (thankfully we had a change of clothes), guess who we witnessed heading into Dingus? You betcha, "I'm Fat, Fuck Off". Obviously those two minutes of drinking he lost getting scolded left him awfully parched.
So now these Bozo's are all home, reveling in their "fame", and laughing over the whole deal over beers and a bottle of RumpleMinze. Well, maybe not quite so much now that we all know who they are, but probably.
Now, an open letter to the jokers themselves:
What? Did you just turn legal age and come from your "power hour"? You SCREAMED of being "real race fans". Oh? What exactly is that supposed to mean? I heard you SCREAM three drivers names all night. "Fuckin Schatz! Fuckin' Kinser! Fuckin Swindell!"
Early in the evening, you thought my daughter and I were supporting Swindell because our shirts had a Big Game logo. Have you heard of Craig Dollansky? Very knowledgable "real race fans". Get a life.
And finally, just so y'all know, Knoxville Raceway has made it right by us, or at least closer to right. Thank you Knoxville Raceway for the gesture.

I think the solution is call 911 and let the Police Deal with the DRUNKS. Knoxville won' do anythink about it and that is a shame

from the other thread; hoopefully I'm not pissing anyone off by posting this here, but it's not hard to find! Toby Kruse General Manager [email protected] I noticed there doesn't appear to be anyone directly in charge of security/grandstands that is listed on their website. to be clear, I'm no saint, I regularly drink a large # of beers at most sprint car races I attend, but I've never bothered those around me, quite the contrary. the last thing I want to do is piss someone off at a sprint car race, being sort of a niche that results in us being a close-knit, relatively small community. lastly, anyone using excessive foul language, obviously drunk, or vomiting anywhere near a racetrack besides a toilet should be escorted out IMMEDIATELY with no degree of compromise. "come back whenever you can behave like an adult" I don't think that's too much to ask!

Has the Family of this ordeal been back to Knoxville? I hope all is well on the subject of the posting?
As for the bozo's, I hope they enjoyed their 15 minutes of fame and have crawled into the their hole around Aug every year since.

I know the raceway contacted the family (this post is from 2012), so this is the 2nd Nationals since the incident...

The seat thing works both ways as I have found out many times. I am a large dude and I definitly take up more than 1 seat and usually buy 2 for myself when they are availibe. However, 90% of the time when there is an issue around me everyone is looking at me to deal with the drunks, which I do. So next time you have a guy whos shoulders are as wide as your car (not their waist) embrace them, we sober people up quickly.

Did anyone witness the rowdy group of loud drunks sitting in Sec H, row 21, seats 26-32 lastnight? These guys were sloppy drunk, swearing belligerently, and the surrounding people were asking them to knock it off with no luck. The sherrif came up and said something to them but left a few minutes later. Then the Rumpleminz came out and was being passed back and forth between these guys...And, one of them threw up all over the backs of the family sitting in row 20, not once, but again about 10 mins later. Alot of arguing between the guys and people fed up with them, but no punches or anything else ensuing. Guy in white shirt was the one who got sick mulitple times, guy in black shirt was the one who wanted to fight people. Bad thing about this was all the little kids and older folks that had to put up with this.

Mental note. Getting to the nationals is WAS on my bucket list. My 10 year old daughter likes to go with me and I would have for sure brougut her, but if that is the type of behavior permitted well then.......

Me and my son attend central PA tracks, and were looking to "get off the porch".
Was just starting to plan next year to go to Knoxville, but I think Charlotte World Finals just won.

I remember this thread very well. Firstly did the track ban these aholes? Does the track have a non drinking section during the Nationals? The servers need to cut off the drunks before things get to this point, and they also need cops in the stands like I've seen at River Cities Speedway. A uniform has a way of curbing idiotic behaviour lol. Let's hope for a peaceful, safe and fun Nationals for all.

Not that i'm not with you on your points but if I recall right as far as cutting them off, I believe they snuck in a bottle of Rumplemintz and were sipping off it the whole show so cutting them off really wasn't the problem. Also as far as banning them, I 100% agree with you but I don't think it would be logistically possible for the track to watch for these guys all Nationals and make sure they don't get in again. I would question though if they come back after all the attention they got from this when it happened 2 years ago, namely do to this thread and people on here figuring out who they are and bringing the situation to light.
