Strange night of racing. Perhaps and unfortunately Shaver Specialties and the other suppliers are the big winners. The flagman is probably applied pain patches to his arms after having to wave so many red and yellow flags. A couple of teams are going to need some help if they are planning on racing in a couple of weeks(Watsonville), three weeks(Perris/Victorville double header) or even the Oval Nationals.

And then their is the matter of the Cal Lightning Sprints. Not much can be said for that fiasco that half the field was eliminated by the half way point of the scheduled twenty lap race.

I noticed that a lot of tired, bored, unhappy fans were heading for the exit long before the sprint main was finished. Hard to get a guest to come back a second time after a show like this.

harryfan , were you at the perris race ? the feature was amazingly exciting ! there was 1 red at lap 6 . it looked like the sr sprint car of alderman , and the 44 of johnny mcall expired engines ,early in the night , seriously doubt either were shaver pieces . the 36 and the 39 both killed chassis , but is this unusual? it seemed like a normal night of racing , just missing a few cars which is not unusual . cardys run to 2nd was awesome as well as super ricky winning last man standing and running top 5 . the only crazy things i saw was sheridan taking him self out ( ON A YELLOW ? wtf.. )while leading , what a huge gift to spencer , made the 50 cars work easy . by the way the 50 is running a shaver engine . what about the first 10 laps of the sr main !! those guys were racin like it paid big $$$ !! simply amazing racing .... for mid summer the track was not bad , hats off to the perris guys .. just a really great night of racing from the tire i stood on ...

Thank you guys. I stand corrected. Once the sprint car mains got under way they scratched, kicked and clawed their way to the finish. David Cardey coming from deep in the pack was a wonder. I do have a question. What would be more expensive to run, a California Lightning Sprint or a 360 senior sprint? Maybe the lightning sprints could be run a 4:00PM. Just joking.

So it's my turn to call you an idiot, criticize your use of caps and misspellings. Oh boy. Missed you and your lady in the stands last Saturday evening.

What would be more expensive to run, a California Lightning Sprint or a 360 senior sprint? California Lightning Sprint is the least expensive racing I have ever done. You can buy a top 5 car with spares for anywhere from $6500 to 10K, and the most expensive weekly cost is gasoline for your tow rig. Weekly cost: methanol 5 gallons, tires last at least 5 races, motors should last a couple seasons... And the cars are as fast and fun to race as most anything you can get in. Just ask Spencer, Cardey, Benders, Cory Ballard, Bragg, and all the others who have graduated from this series over the years... Great series, and affordable.... http://www.calightningsprints.com/ Bobby
