Ol sprintcarfanatic went & watched a late model show & would you believe that dadgum race went 60 laps in 16 minutes. NO BLOWN TIRES & NO FUEL STOPS & it was a pretty damn good race to boot.

I use to be nothing but sprint car racing myself but about ten years ago I broadened my horizons and watched other forms of dirt track racing and have become a huge late model and modified fan. Almost any late model show and USMTS for modifieds.

When mwilaski pussed out by not telling me which pit stall he was in @ Lincoln, I decided to go to Hagerstown for the Hagerstown/Winchester shootout...
38 supers to include Cruz Pendregon, formerly of the NHRA, put on a whale of a show...![Smile](/images/Main/smile_100x100.gif)

Dirt LM's always put on a great show. The sprint only snobs are missing out on some good racing. Can't wait for the WOO LM show at Selinsgrove in August. I'm a sprint fan first but LM's are a close second. Stan, you coming up to see LM's on a fast track?

My Brother, who builds and races drag cars, informed me of that today while we were doing a brake job on my daughters new used car...That was after the front end alignment and 4 new Goodyear tires we put on it the day after we bought it but that's another story...
As far as Late model racing goes, I used to go to Selinsgrove for the Paul Long Memorial but now I'll only ever go to see them @ Hagerstown... ![Smile](/images/Main/smile_100x100.gif)

Lates put on a great show too. I've been to the USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway on several occasions, as well as the Knoxville LM Nationals once. The WoO LM were at my local track last week and I enjoyed there show too. My true love is sprint car racing, but I see nothing wrong with enjoying other forms of dirt track racing. Broaden your horizons people.

saw a T-shirt at knoxville a couple years back that pretty well sums this up. It read:
LATE MODELS SUCK
and yes, I am one of those "sprintcar snobs" and no, I don't feel bad about it and no, there is nothing you can say to change my mind.
305's are the herpes of sprint cars

I always heard the "Sprintcar Snobs" aka "Wingdings" don't have the attention span to comprehend 50-100 laps of 2 and often 3 wide racing... :/

I used to go to The Night The Stars Come Out at KC raceway & it was the Stars LateModels & the All Star Sprints, Alternated features & when 1 was done the fans for that particular division would leave. I have always been the type to watch everything unless I had a fairly long drive.

If you don't like good side-by-side racing, then I guess you might actually believe that.

Lot easier to race side by side when you can bump and crash your way through the corners at 1/2 the speed of a Sprint Car. Go pound your chests on the Late Model Forum.

What ever trips your trigger. It would be a boring world if everyone liked the same thing. Enjoy your taxi races.

With all of the POOR car counts in the sprints this year the Late Models seem to be about the same. You would think that maybe just maybe the people who matter in sprint cars would take a look at what the late models are doing. Im going to the Silver Dollat nationals saturday night at I-80 and to date this is the biggest late model race I have ever went too. I love sprints but I am getting fed up with the poor car counts and what I think is the reason why. OBTW the feature is 80 laps---any race that mattered in the sprints used to be 50 laps now they have to have a red flag to make sure they can go 30 laps.

Hell I'd go to Boone Iowa for 45 days or whatever it is if it was the only game in town.
