In a Factory Stock I run a 680 final drive at Ada. I have a 182 powerglide that I run in low and a 373 rear gear. I turn about 7200 RPM with that.

I HAVENT BEEN TO MEEKER WITH MY CAR YET BUT IM BETTING A 700 TOTAL GEAR IS PROBABLY PRETTY GOOD FOR AROUND THE 7000 RPM RANGE. IVE GOT 683 AND I CAN GUESS THATS NOT GOING TO BE ENOUGH

glen you can only run a 680 cause you got a bullet-proof bottom end with that callies crank and crower rod set up you got and tell the guy the truth how you've come in and hit the recall on the tach and it say 8300. guys that have a stock rod motor like me run a 650 cause it cant take the abuse your big motors can.

Last year in my F/S at Ada I ran a 6.66, 7000 rpm. And it was a legal motor.

Jason I haven't been to the races at SFS this year, your car looks good from what I can tell on the profile!

Man Jason, your telling all my secrets! But the problem is that I run out of money on the crank and rods, and have to put 4 valve relief stock cast pistons in it!

All kidding aside, our engines are stock crank, x rods with ARP rod bolts and cast pistons, I turn about 7200 with a 680, sometimes wish I could have a touch more gear becouse its bogging down out of the corner, been pulling that gear since 2000 down there.

Dont tell anybody about my 'specail' button on my dash Jason, its my speed secret ya know!

she may go a lil faster into the corner glen if you take some gear outta it but hey like ya said that nitro button you and vachon have makes up for that i guess

can anyone tell me if the track configuration at meeker has changed since 2003?

if so, in what way? (from a driver/tuner perspective)

i have ran FS @ meeker three times in 02 & 03 twice with a 6.34 once with a 6.50.. all with great results. but all the advice & information my car owner & myself received about gearing said we needed at least a 7.00 and the "fast" guy's ran 7.19 or more.

Well when you ran there the track was a 1/4 mile now it is a 3/8 mile track with more banking and concrete walls...

Thanks D_Waller, that pretty much covers all the little details I was after in one swoop! hehehe

I hope to make it over this season, maybe at least make you guy's earn one. Smile any word of a bounty on you guy's or any big $ races in the works? I could maybe shoe a special, otherwise have to pile my junk back together & hope the new track loves me.

Thanks again,

Your welcome, come on down no bounty's that we are aware of . Mark raised the pay so you get $25 dollars more in the pay scale, Big money races have not heard of any specials yet we may have to wait till the Fall Nationals, not sure. Yes come on down when ya can.
