Johnson Looks for Four in a Row in NCRA Sport Mods This Saturday!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – June 27, 2012 - In an event that has been rescheduled twice due to inclement weather, the Bob Howard and Mopar National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products southern sport modified division will try for a third time to get racing action completed as they head to 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas this coming Saturday night.
And while the weather outside has heated up in a big way, so has the tours career leading victory leader.
Travis Johnson of Enid, Oklahoma has won the last three events on the tour schedule, starting with the May 2nd event at the Salina High Banks Speedway in Salina, Oklahoma. He is fresh off sweeping a weekend double this past Friday and Saturday night, claiming victory at Elk City Speedway in Elk City, Oklahoma and Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas. The latter was his tenth victory in the southern sport modified divisions four year history.
If you thought it couldn't get any better than that, he pulled out his NCRA modified this past Sunday night at Enid Speedway in Enid, Oklahoma and claimed his first career tour victory in that division. In the previous four series events that he has attended, he was won them all. Two of Johnson's victories came here at 81 Speedway.
This race will be the sixth event held at the track since the tours inception back in 2009. Winners include Johnson (2), Smith (2) and Jeff Autry.
Close to thirty drivers are expected to compete from throughout Northern Oklahoma and Central Kansas. They include Todd Decker, Chad McNamara, Johnson, Robert Elliott, Bobby McGehee, Ross and his sixteen year old daughter Courtney McCartney, Kevin Snow, Landon Maddox, Caleb Edwards, Chris Lyons, Joe and Cleo Adams, JD and Kyle Choate, Darin Busch, Bobby Fiest, Craig Ridgway and Kevin Dickson.
Gates open this Saturday night at 5:00 pm with racing action set for a 7:00 pm start time. General admission prices are $10, $5 for children while pit passes are $20.
